CCC-AETHER-01-01 The Heir of Orcus: Verse I This is by far the best module I've ever played. The time and effort applied to the little things shows the Anthony REALLY cares for every aspect of your gaming experience. If you are looking for a premade AL to play at and your LGS or even just with your play group I'd be hard pressed to find a better product. Not to mention the 8bit theme is out of this world!!!

The Priest, the Witch, and the Lost Temple: An Adventure
by Patrick H.

The Priest, the Witch, and the Lost Temple: An Adventure Whitehaven is besieged by undead. Why? Is it a coincidence or is someone up to something. As you can imagine from the title, someone is definitely up to something. But is it the priest or the witch? Send in some tier 1 PCs to investigate before things get really nasty and out of hand. The Priest, the Witch, and the Lost Temple will provide you with 12 or more hours of gameplay (unless your group are murder hobos simply looking for blood and guts). David McDonough has established himself as an author of note within DMs Guild and I hope he continues to create great content! http://www.nonzerosumgames.com/the-priest-the-wi-

DDAL08-05 Hero of the Troll Wars

DDAL08-05 Hero of the Troll Wars I ran this adventure separate from the one preceding and the one after. It presents preparation challenges similar to other season 8 adventures, but overall, I enjoyed the structure and the content. The beginning of this adventure has the party waking up in a field in the past that the Blackstaff is projecting them into, and although in the previous adventure she does mention a goal for the adventurers (investigating a "wrinkle in the weave"), it doesn't come into play in this section of the trilogy. My initial worry was that players might not feel compelled to go after all of the main and bonus objectives without any clear direction, so I had Vajra ask for them to bring back information on as many events as they could so that she could start knitting some clues together. It turned out that having the structured goal of activating all of Halaster's wards was enough for this group. Once the goal was introduced, they got straight to work. There were a few minor disappointments caus...

CCC-AETHER-01-01 The Heir of Orcus: Verse I Just runned this yesterday, it's a nice adventure, but i did find myself at a lost when interpreting most of the personage. As a new DM, I was really searching for argument for Titus and the twins when asked for justification or proof from the characters. (of course it did change quickly once they found some things) In the end, I did come up with things on the fly, they did manage to completely finish the scenario, but the 'take position action' ended up happening WAY WAY later in the game, so i had to somehow manage both the twins and the knights at the same time. as for the characters quotes, i found them less helpfull to give life to the character that i would have liked, since i need to translate the whole thing on the fly (from english to french), but that might be my lack of DM experiance with AL module that made this more problematic that it is. The dragon scene ... damn, the players where steaming from all the thinking in not screwing this up, it was super intence. ...

The Tournament at Scornubel

The Tournament at Scornubel My group enjoyed some aspects of this and really didn't like some of the others. The way they went about solving the mystery was super challenging for them to piece all the details together about who did what and why (and learn the rumos were or weren't true). I should have cut the spellcasting event as we only had 1 out of the 4 that could participate, but they really wanted to. This led for a very boring interaction for the rest of the group. By the time we got to the grand melee, no one even wanted to participate with the rules. I had Aelfred cancel the grand melee because they had uncovered some of the plot by then and had convinced Devon to tell what he knew. The horse race was GREATLY enjoyed, but we had printed 3d horses that held their minis, so I think that's really why they enjoyed it. ...

CCC-AETHER-01-01 The Heir of Orcus: Verse I Look no further; this mod is A MUST BUY! I was looking for something new to break the cycle of redundancy I was experiencing with other mods, so I spent quite a bit of time researching modules; I ultimately decided on this one due to the reviews, and the content it included. This mod stands out above so many others in so many ways, some of which are its inclusion of a variety of visual aids (location templates, character drawings, player handouts, etc.) and in-depth lore, that all amplify the player’s roleplaying experience. This mod also caters to DM’s, as the developer laid out DM guidelines in a format that is very easy to follow, while also allowing DM’s the freedom to incorporate their own ideas into the player experience. Some reviewers noted that they consider the ability to navigate through this entire adventure without much combat, to be a con, but I consider this a pro… It takes true intelligence to complete a mission like this with no combat, anybody can swing a sw...

DDAL08-06 Purging the Blood Fun adventure with a lot of places for character to explore. The weakness continues to be how the adventure is written. You need plenty of time to prepare the adventure to run it well. Also, be prepared for your players to make some...creative decisions and force you to make up some content on the fly. The older seasons format is much better than this season's.

Zendrick's Common Magic Items - 100 New Items for D&D 5th Edition

Zendrick's Common Magic Items - 100 New Items for D&D 5th Edition The idea of a common magic item (as introduced in Xanathar's Guide) is that it's a mostly cosmetic item (or something that just makes your player go "oh, that's neat") and this book is chock full of them. As far as I can see, there's no balance issues that would cause any DM distress, and the overall production value is great. Good job!

Champions of a Lost Era: Class Conversions for 5th Edition Converting a solid amount of material from older editions to suit the 5e design process, Alex has created a supplement that will undoubtedly find use at many tables. While we've only had a chance to use a fraction of the content from the book, so far nothing has caused our games to become broken. Two thumbs up!

DDAL08-07 Into the Dark

DDAL08-07 Into the Dark One of the best season 8 modules so far. I don't typically enjoy "Theater of the Mind" games, that is to say games that largely rely on not having a map available, but this one in particular is well laid out and structured in such a way that it generally doesn't need a physical map. Describe it simply as "A maze", the characters finding their way through it is less literally telling you if they go left or right and more making skill checks and putting it together. Pros: Well written story with likeable NPCs Feels like the first game since Season 7 that's actually an *adventure*; A true blue dungeon dive. Encounters are well balanced and setting it to strong presented a real but not impossible challenge to my five level five players. Side content is meshe din well as long as you read it ahead of time to know where the passenges splinter off in to. An absolute wealth of options between social, exploration, and raw combat. Cons: The plot hook, or the call to action as you ma...
