Mirrors of the Abyss

Mirrors of the Abyss I very much enjoyed playing the encounters in this book. They were very thought out the "simple" answer to encounters may end up with disastrous consequence; and rightfully so as you're not the first person to enter this realm as entertainment. What I found amazing is the amount of effort that was put in to create all the unique items and encounter tables. On top of that each one of those has it's own backstory, reason of being, why it's there. The world building is there you don't need to worry about just having something generalized that you need to build upon, everything is very detailed in description and thought out. Encounters are deadly if you don't treat them with respect. You need to use all your resources but knowing each time you use an item or daily it's something you won't have later; will I have enough to last to the end. Even if you don't plan on playing this, looking at the art and reading about the world and its backstories is worth it. Definitely great fun...

Mirrors of the Abyss I was a 5-time player of this adventure and each of our play sessions lasted well into the wee hours of the morning because we just didn't want to quit. This dungeon tortures you in a way that makes you nervous that you will survive. I can honestly say that, all 5 times I got the feeling that anything could happen, and the chambers we repeated went down differently--not even close! Last time I played, for the first time, my cleric shifted into a righteous Exorcist and found the Throwing Pentacle right before we had to end Game Night. I tried playing it tough. I tried playing it cautious and shamefully, a few times I backstabbed my fellow adventurers. It's like Hunger Games and Tomb of Horrors a little, but where Acererak had a master plan, Eshebala is a batsh** crazy serial killer. She deserves to die....

Expanded Genasi
by Ryan K.

Expanded Genasi *Expanded Genasi* is a short but packed pdf detailing 12 new genasi sub-races. Jonathan Sutton gives a quick re-printing of the base genasi racial traits (handy to keep the number of books/pdfs open at your table to a minimum) before diving right in to cover genasi of the para- and quasi-elemental planes. Each genasi presented has thematically-connected and reasonably unique racial traits, happily departing from the standardized Race Analysis Guide's stock list of traits. Many of the traits presented promote thoughtful use of powers in specific situations rather than permanent ambient bonuses. This work is clearly meant for players and DMs who have a decent understanding of D&D's historical inner plane cosmology. Those who are just getting into gaming may not understand where these genasi fit in (a "planar explorer's travel sketch" might help such new players immensely or a sidebar explaining what sub-planes arise from which planar boundaries overlapping). Those wishing to depa...

D&D Solo Adventure: The Death Knight's Squire
by Sherri N.

D&D Solo Adventure: The Death Knight's Squire We have been looking for a way to play D&D without a DM just the 2 of us. This was a great adventure that gave us a feel for how playing without a DM might work. The Death Knight's squire provided a fun and well written adventure with a balanced level of difficulty. To scale for two players, we doubled any regular enemies encountered (because there are two of us) and any special/boss type enemies we increassed their AC by 2 and doubled their HP. We may make some more adjustments to this scaling in the future. This adventure came with awesome tilesets and the PDF was well organized with nice images. The PDF also had clickable links to jump you around and minimize accidentally reading spoilers. We used a bit of the Mythic GM emulator to do some side roleplaying. We plan to use this after we finish Paul's adventures to continue with our characters - if they're alive! Well done - an awesome 2 evenings of fun!...

An Ogre and His Cake - Digital

An Ogre and His Cake - Digital What a blast, an easy to follow d&d adventure for any ages. I know it says 5+ and I would probably agree with this normally but my 4 year old had so much fun playing. She has played some of my own homebrew adventures before so it wasnt too much of a learning curve so your miles may vary. I enjoyed the fact that all the fights had a non leathal way out and that there was the option for older players. Lots of opportunity for role playing and a lovely moral dilemma at the end. I was pleasantly surprised that they took the diplomatic solution (especially after discovering that my partner is a murder hobo). Highly recommend and cant wait for more content like this. The fact that their profits are going to charity just adds the icing on the cake - I just hope there's no Ogres out there to steal it. ...

Asterik's Astounding Atrocities - 50+ New Magic Items This compilation is a lot of fun. As much as I love personally spinning 'know' items or effects into new or slightly unrecognizable versions, this is another creator doing the same thing (well!) with a different lens and different ideas. There are takes in here I would not have ever come up with. I apprecaited the tables sorting the items by rarity and by type; helped make them more usable more quickly.

DDAL08-01 The Map with No Names I felt the adventure was too open ended with little to no direction. Also did not appreciate the obvious political agenda early in the text. The art was good and even felt the adventure had potential.

DDAL00-05 Winter's Splendor (5e) This a very fun adventure. My home group wanted to go to a ball in Waterdeep and participate in Waterdeep "high society". This was a fun way to introduce the Cassalanters to my party (and provided a nice reason for the Cassalanters to loan my PCs some funds to finish fixing up Trollskull Manor). I highly suggest it!

OD&D Dungeons & Dragons Original Edition (0e)
by Rudy C.
Publisher: Wizards of the Coast
Date Added: 02/17/2019 01:51:54
OD&D Dungeons & Dragons Original Edition (0e) TL;DR: Old school D&D in it's full glory, exactly the way its creator (Gygax) played. Sacrifice those two cups of Starbucks coffee and pick this bundle up, you are in for a great time! Full Review: This is a PDF copy of what's referred to as the "white box" or "3 brown booklets" or "OD&D", the game that kicked off the entire D&D craze back in 1974. Nothing has been altered, these booklets have everything you and your friends need to begin playing D&D the way Gygax played. Contrary to popular belief, Gygax didn't really use the Advanced D&D rules that much. In fact, the final campaign he ran for his players before his death in 2008 was using these 3 booklets. You'll find strange conventions here, such as Fighting Men (fighters), constant references to the Chainmail ruleset (not required), and the fact that every player class uses a d6 for hit points and all weapons/monsters deal a d6 for damage on a hit. As strange as all this sounds, the rules are very workable and allow for trul...

A Most Potent Brew - A Basic Rules Adventure

A Most Potent Brew - A Basic Rules Adventure For the first campaign that I DM'd in a while it was a great starting one. Also I had a few new players with me and I think they enjoyed it even though they tried extorting the brewery owner. The battles were quick and light and were well put together. The sense of urgency to defeat the enemies was always there. From here I think I'll be moving onto the next adventure in the miniseries. Keep up the great work!
