Night of the Walking Dead | Part 1 of 6 | Remastered Adventure Module & Maps

pixel_trans.gif Night of the Walking Dead | Part 1 of 6 | Remastered Adventure Module & Maps As a big fan and collector of Ravenloft lore, both old and new, this version of **Night of the Walking Dead**, coupled with its excellent maps, is a real treasure! I loved the initial 2e adventure when I first found it on DMsGuild and when I found conversions for it. I've loved Souragne and expanding on it with fan-made materials like the Fraternity of Shadows' *Souragne Gazetteer*, and the updates made in this adventure are super cool. The Grand Conjunction series of modules have always suffered from their disjointed publication history, so seeing a version of this adventure that does a great job tying things forward is amazing (especially cuz I love Dulcimae since her intro in **Touch of Death**. I am strongly looking forward to any and all future Ravenloft products from this author and hope to see more maps and 2e Ravenloft material converted to 5e, as well as any other contributions to the Ravenloft campaign setting! ...

The Eclipsed Heart

pixel_trans.gif The Eclipsed Heart Really had a great time running this. The layout is easy to follow, everything is clear, and the story itself is just fun. It’s got that classic fantasy feel without being too complicated, which made it really easy to run as a one shot. My players jumped right into it, got invested in the mystery, and had a blast when things started ramping up. Pacing felt solid. My group didn’t overthink things too much, so it moved along naturally without dragging. I could see how some players might try to stretch it out, but if you just let the events unfold as written, it all comes together in a really satisfying way. The last fight was intense, and my group loved pulling off a plan that actually worked. They walked away feeling like total badasses and legends. I also liked the art, even though I know it's midjourney. You can tell the author cared and ensured that there were the proper amount of limbs and fingers for instance! If they didn't tell you it was AI artwork, you probably coul...

THREE BODY PROBLEM (FR-DC-VECNA-01)

pixel_trans.gif THREE BODY PROBLEM (FR-DC-VECNA-01) First off, I'll say as a person who hasn't published any adventures that this was a fun read and fun run for my group (of all DMs)! Even deviating a bit, we were able to complete the module in just 6hrs which I personally found impressive. We also used the 2024 rules, which interacted... interestingly in terms of scaling. I'll also add that due to the experience of my players and running it in AL, I pushed them hard by using the "strong" combat level which basically made every combat extremely deadly (except for the last one). I will attempt to offer my opinions in 3 categories: Story, Combat & Completeness. I'll do my best to explain my reasonings and share the experience I had at the table to contextualize my opinion. **Story** I'll start off by saying the story was good, above average even with how well it ties in to Nest of the Eldritch Eye. All characters were easy to understand and had just enough depth written in that I could run with and...

pixel_trans.gif Greyhawk Adventures - The Cursed Abbey of Boccob (4th level) Great adventure! I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't played but the library has a magical lift that descends to hundreds of underground vaults. Reminds me of Gringots in Harry Potter. The arcane candles and gloves are a cute touch. Amazing ideas here and endless possibilities. Really enjoyed it ++

pixel_trans.gif Evernight. Expanding Vecna: Eve of Ruin I'm a long way from finishing but the foreshadowing section you've created is well thought out. My players - all old crusty veterans - have had a few surprises already. My only complaint is that I'll never get to the actual adventure!!!! Cudos.

FR-DC-BMK Phandelver and the Blood Moon Keep [BUNDLE]

pixel_trans.gif FR-DC-BMK Phandelver and the Blood Moon Keep [BUNDLE] I just finished DMing all five chapters of this series for our local AL, and I highly recommend them. The players enjoyed the series too. Each chapter works perfectly well, either as a stand-alone adventure or as part of the entire story. I appreciate how thoughtful the author was in crafting these new adventures that all have a very old-school feel to them. I espcially appreciate the small number of very powerful and unique monsters (instead of a huge amount of medium-powered ones). They also used a range of varied monsters that kept the party guessing. Finally, there was great loot and treasure and a wonderful, creepy and compeling story for the players that were able to make it to all 5 sessions....

pixel_trans.gif The Eclipsed Heart The form of the document is very good, but I've found the story really too plain. It can be entertaining for kids or people really into old-school fantasy stories with easily identified "good people" vs "bad people", but it really lacks depth or a bit of a twist. Combine that with the AI art, it really feels like the whole story is AI-written.

Temple of Tymora: A Jumanji inspired one shot adventure
by A customer
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild
Date Added: 02/16/2025 11:49:55
pixel_trans.gif Temple of Tymora: A Jumanji inspired one shot adventure I inserted this temple into my ongoing campaign, I needed a bit of fun after an intense battle-filled session, this fit that need perfectly. The puzzles were mostly great, I did replace the water drain room with just a riddle because I found the logistics of that room a bit confusing. The good luck/bad luck system was a lot of fun for my players to figure out. After inadvertantly stepping on a crack it had them paranoid to enter each room and accidentally do something unlucky, it was funny. Last but certainly not least was the Jumanji themed final challenge, that was a blast to play through. I think my only complaint would be the room was a bit on the small side so it ended up a bit crowded in there towards the end of the game, but we made it work. Overall, a lot of fun and I highly recommend....

The Bottomly Graveyard: One Player, One Dungeon Master, One Shot Adventure

pixel_trans.gif The Bottomly Graveyard: One Player, One Dungeon Master, One Shot Adventure This is the second adventure (after The Spike, German version) by Christopher Hamwell that my 12-year old son (dragonborn sorcerer) and I (DM) played - and again we had a lot of fun. The adventure is perfect to play with children (but surely also with an adult) because it has funny elements (the drunken gravedigger) and more chilling elements (again, the drunken gravedigger). It's easy to prepare, even if you use dndbeyond's map feature and place all the monsters on the map in advance. We enjoyed it very much and I can only recommend it. BTW, you don't need to create an additional sidekick. The ones you get in the game by accepting the tasks are enough, even for a 1st level dragonborn sorcerer @Christopher: Thanks for the offer in my "The Spike" review. But I already bought some and that's absolutely fine with me :)...

pixel_trans.gif Three Whispers Three Whispers is an amotspheric and haunting adventure. One of the best I've ran. The Three Whispers mechanic is great, and my players always felt on edge as they tried solving the mystery before it was too late. It excels in pacing and tension building. The art work is superb and maps are good. I'm really glad that everything was included to run this without much prep work. If you're looking for a horror and mystery adventure I do recommend picking this one up!

pixel_trans.gif CCC-ODFC01-02 Black Blades, Black Wings I have a mixed response to this adventure. The key premise is really interesting, the creature selection is awesome, has one of the best story awards I have seen, and it has a really creative way to manage different party strengths during the body of the adventure. EDIT: After filling in the content that is missing, this has become one of my FAVORITE adventures to run. But. It has no maps. Every encounter takes place either in a generic tunnel in the Underdark that vary only in whether they are described as 10 or 15 feet wide or in caverns that are all described with the exact same dimensions and features (except for how high the cieling is). And there are no real role play notes. Every encounter is expected to go directly combat with no motivations or personalities given to the opponents. Even the questgiver - the only description we have of him is his title. Then there are several of the hazards and effect which have incredibly complex mechanics with half dozen exceptions and ...

pixel_trans.gif DDEX2-10 Cloaks and Shadows (5e) Ran this in Feb 2025! Fun module which my players enjoyed and absolutely top notch loot for Tier 1 which they really appreciated. New 2024 PHB, DMG and MM are all available now so I updated whatever I could; particularly switching out monsters with new guards, mastiffs, cultists and cultist assasins. The modules strengths are the excellent branching story lines and clues. Accordingly there are quite a lot of NPCs, clues/handouts, locations and encounters for the DM to understand which means that this is a very busy mod requiring quite a bit of prep to run smoothly. The encounters are nice but DMs may wish to add a greater variety of monsters. My Tier 1 group was classified as weak but they were all very experienced and handled most encounters with ease. The interview in Part 1 uses the old surprise rules so DMs will need to update that or just ask the players forebearance for the on rails start. It is a very fast start but they understood quickly enough that they were supposed to...
