Moon over Graymoor

Moon over Graymoor This was an unbelievably fun time to play. My players (I had 6 so I ended up buffing Father Daragor a lot) ended up not realizing that the attack would come from within the church, and instead secured the perimeter, almost leaving the villagers to the "feast". However, one player decided to wander back in last second, and the doors slammed behind her locking her in alone with the villagers and forced to fight Father Daragor and Eryn alone. She managed to figure out how to unlock the doors, freeing the villagers, but I thought she was going to die. As an aside, in Ser Thames' unfinished letter he says the sword will be delivered "in two nights" but Ser Thames' died two weeks ago. This raised some questions, and it was decided that Ser Thames' had actually meant "in two weeks"....

Morgrave Miscellany

Morgrave Miscellany Wait a minute here... bards without instruments, barbarians who aren't murder hobos and supernatural druids who don't have to be tied to nature tropes? What kind of blasphemy is this? I'll tell you its another great piece of work from 2 passionate creators. I know alot of people get hung up on mechanics but I feel the real gold to be mined here relates to making traditional D&D fit the unique noir setting of Eberron. These character concepts can help with any campaign looking to refresh stale concepts and traditional archetypes. All of the extra feats and backgrounds just add to the value here, but again the flavors of the new subclasses really helps refine the world while continuing to show why Eberron is special in its own way. Can't wait to dig into this with our players!!...

Morgrave Miscellany

Morgrave Miscellany After a brief read, it seems like a nice book, but it also seems incomplete. For example, it has a bunch of unique Monk traditions, but only Way of the Ardent Fist actually has any unique abilities. The layout could also be improved. Paladin, for example, has a unique Oath for the Blood of Vol, but it comes two pages after the short Blood of Vol description. In short, it'd be really nice if more special options were added for unique Eberron things, and if the layout was updated to be a bit more streamlined....

Advanced Arcana - Alternative Mana-Based Spellcasting System

Advanced Arcana - Alternative Mana-Based Spellcasting System As someone who doesn't play Magic the Gathering, but loves the potential of new systems for use in my homebrew campaign setting, I was excited to see this product. As of writing this review, there were two reviews available, and from them I decided to take a leap of faith and purchase it. I was initially disheartened to see that for almost $13, this document didn't have bookmark functionality - it's going to be tough for me and my players to navigate a document that's 160+ pages long. In (hopefully) future updates, I would appreciate a printer-friendly version of this (white background, limited color), and preferentially one without clip art. That last request is definitely a personal one, but I feel as if there are stock images that look more professional and befitting of such an awesome document. Thank you all, creators, for the sacrifice of time, money, and effort you gave to make this happen. Creating something is never easy, and I appreciate all you have done. With tha...

Advanced Arcana - Alternative Mana-Based Spellcasting System

Advanced Arcana - Alternative Mana-Based Spellcasting System Reading through the PDF this seems like a really interesting alternative to spell casting and a good way to bridge MtG players into D&D. My biggest comments would be that it should be a little more detailed about the exact limits with creating links to lands (One example says leaving a sea-farring ship loses your blue connection, but the example caster at the end can tap into the "distant mountains". How far is "distant"? What are the limitations? Does going someplace like the Plane of Fire completely ruin any other mana source?), and that this should be the *only* casting method in your campaign if you use it. While it would be interesting to try, having a singular character who uses this method in a campaign that runs otherwise normally with the core rules would put them at a severe disadvantage to anything that can cast it's high level spells on the first round. Those two comments aside there is a lot of promise in this system!...

200 Wild Magic Table

200 Wild Magic Table Hi there, Starting a game recently and using this table. One thing I've noticed and dislike is some of the "out of character" references like with the 'holodeck' ruin my immersion. I would love for all effects to be lore-friendly and in-character with no cheeky references. Furthermore, some effects can really just straight up kill your party or end your adventure at lower levels. Maybe have some effects scale with the player level to prevent you from wiping a party at the start of the adventure with an unlucky roll? EDIT: Thanks for your reply! I appreciate you getting back to me. And indeed you can't please everyone. I do believe there's a place for humor and fun effects in D&D, provided they stay in-character. For example, some of the original table has fun effects like pink bubbles coming out of your mouth, or hair loss. That's the kind of comedy I am fine with, but for example the effect for rolling a 1 on your table: *"1 ...as you finish casting your spell, the univ...

The Forgotten Forge: An Expansion and 5e Conversion Guide Just used this conversion to help prepare for a one-shot and it's well worth the price--likely more. The additions to the story help make it seem more real and less like a railroad and can easily fluff the Forgotten Forge out into a two-session story. I think the difficulty might need a little tweaking as some of the fights were a hair on the easy side but I fully understand how much dice luck and factor in. Overall, one of the best bangs for my buck that I've purchased here.

DDAL08-11 Poisoned Words This has been my favorite module of this season I think it has something to offer all kinds of groups because you can approach it multiple ways and still reach a satisfying solution. It has rp for your rp groups and ways to avoid combat, but combat and just pounding your way though the front gates still works if that's your groups style. Love this module look forward to running and playing it more.

DDAL08-10 The Skull Square Murders Absoluetly love this module. My group is super RP heavy and we had alot of fun doing the murder mistery and hunting him down. That being said I do feel like it feels a little weird if it was with a non rp heavy group but that being said I love this module.

DDAL08-09 Fangs and Frogs While me and my players had fun with this one. I worry how non-rp groups will handle it as it isn't the most straight forward and the combat encounters can be very punishing for lower level parties who just want to hack their way to the end. Cool ideas but I think more thought should have been put into the pathing to make options and solutions a bit more clear to the players and DM's.

DDAL08-06 Purging the Blood

DDAL08-06 Purging the Blood While some of the RP opertunities in this are super fun it's also not great in my opinion that depending on which family the party first approches it is entirely possible that they can bypass the vamperic famlies completely or have trouble guiding them to the final encounter because they feel they have completed the objective with the vampiric famlies. I feel this one would have been better written as two modules with one being them investigating the vamperic famlies getting a lead on the cult involved with the weave then the second follows up on the cult. The final fight also feels odd as if your party is too strong it's super easy or if they are too weak it can drag on forever making the fight feel weird. ...
