16 May 2019 Review for Aquatic Archetypes by Bryan Holmes
Adventures on the High Seas, indeed!
This product has three archetypes, one for a fighter, wizard, and ranger.
The covers and art are top notch, and the 5 pages were easy to read for me at 100% pdf size.
Each archetype seemed balanced and different from the other archetypes.
The Corsair has a good fighting mechanic, but outside a ship loses most of his other class abilities.
The Fathomer seems the most powerful, and most useful in a campaign that goes in and out of water.
The Storm Sentinel is also pretty powerful, and reminds me of a Thor build that would work well during Storm King’s Thunder or Elemental evil as well as an aquatic adventure.
Overall, if your game allows DM’s Guild material it would be fun to try these archetypes out!
If he has more time, I wonder what other archetypes he can make for the cleric, warlock, and other classes for an aquatic campaign.
