This module was ok. I enjoyed the idea and heart behind it. Like other people commented, I found it to be vague on how everything all relates together. The Harpers suspect yuan-ti to be involved in fixing the dino races, but by the end of the module, that is never really addressed? Their involvement is barely shown (and not at all if the PC's don't actually investigate the dead body). I had to push my PC's to the dead body as they just assumed it was the child's mother (maybe it was?) as it was never really stated.

The betting system was confusing for some of the players. I know someone explained in the comments about betting levels and "trifecta" but I'm not sure a lot of people are going to understand this. Since each player can place a bet, most of my players bet on the same dino (and won) which is fine, but they also were hoping to influence the outcome in some way (bribes, deception, etc) but there wasn't really a way to do that.

There was confusion on the race outcomes being fixed or fluke wins. They assumed the betting races were the ones being fixed and didn't realize that they were also going to have to race. This was more likely due to my inexperience DM'ing, but I didn't feel like it was made clear in the module either.

The full on, character particapted, dinosaur race was slightly confusing as well. The water based challenge was lacking. Players had to dive down with a satchel, bag a stone, and return with it, but they weren't allowed to swim with it. So they just leave it at the bottom? We actually stopped play at this point to figure out how to do this. In the end, we decided on players having to pull them up by a long rope that was attached to the dinosaur.

Overall I feel like it could use a revision\clarification. There was lack of "connecting the dots" so to speak and the players were never really compelled to compete other than "they knew" this was how the module was supposed to go. Granted more experienced DM's probably found it easier, and I fully admit to being part of the issue, it was hard to understand how everything fit together until I had fully played it through once with PC's.
