This book gets unfairly maligned for some inconsistences with the core setting (Thrane's army not having good archers) and missed opportunities such as expanding on Cyran culture.
This book does offer some cool seeds like the Black Highway (a transcontinental consortium of crime syndicates and smugglers who make a makeshift island out of ships to meet!), descriptions of battles, and example elite military units for each nation within Khorvaire (hobgoblins riding a dire tiger the size of an elephant in a howdah!), and provides some weapons of legacy if you'd like to use them as well.
