I found this book interesting, though I did purchase it when it was on sale for around $15 if I recall. I won't beat around the bush, its not necessarily a needed product nor is it going to impart anything you couldn't figure out on your own with google or reddit. I'll say that I likely would not have purchased this for the full listed price of $35. The stats and such referenced in this book as obviously for 3e, so if you want it to work with 5e your looking at conversions before it is directly usable. That being said, I will refer to my initial statement, the book is interesting.
The art is in the typical, almost cartoon-esque style of 3e which isn't bad but is certainly not everyone's cup of tea. I personally found the art to be cool and even a bit inspiring for encounter ideas or just overall concept art. The book also presented some intriguing ideas or mechanics related to weather and temperature that could readily be used in any edition. While the topics discussed in the book are somewhat selfevident, especially to a much more seasoned DM than myself, I got some good ideas from it.
I will leave you with my final, abridged thoughts: It presents intriguing ideas, some cool images, a couple of interesting stats that can be converted to 5e, and a general urge to play a arctic/winter themed campaign. Is it needed? No. Is it cool? Yes.
