The adventure is great, it really tests parties.

I decided to go the route of making it tough which this module really allowed me to do so with the descrptions of how the areas are. The parties i have running this loved to hate a certain section, but i have to say the underground Highway is my fav section in the book, you can really torment the players and with some great storytelling make them feel every moment that they are there.

Everything seems nicely paced and the players should never feel overpowered or find anything too easy. As others have stated if you wish to really explore the other factions the gazetter is a good pick up or if they wishg to go off the beaten path.

I have 2 groups currently running through this adventure and would certainally run it again, i am enjoying it a lot and my players who also include a first time player are having the best time going through this.

What praise can I lavish on this adventure that hasn't already been said? It's an incredibly detailed, intelligent, exciting adventure that weaves all the threads of the 5E Realms together in a nightmare world barreling towards the ascension of D&D's ultimate evil - an evil hitherto unfamiliar to the denizens of the Realms! Your players will find themselves arrayed against implacable odds in this truly challenging epic!

This is an amazing campaign across an alternative timeline in the Forgotten Realms. My players are enjoying this just as much as I am enjoying running it. I look forward to the release, "Fall of Vecna". Keep up this amazing work!

Fantastic and fun adventure with lots of flavor. It might seem like you need the Doomed Forgotten Realms Gazetteer, but it is really unnecessary, only being useful if the players decide to go off the obvious rails and join an evil faction or look at the other locations in more depth.

In fact, the subclasses you get from the Gazetter don't really mesh a whole lot with this adventure, such as the wizard dedicated to exploiting vulnerabilities in a module with only one enemy that has vulnerabilities. So you probably won't be using a lot from it anyways, even if it does flesh out all the lore.

Formatting and descriptions are incredibly wonky, and it might take a couple of read-throughs to understand what it's trying to say or where things are in relation to each other, but overall it does the job of "Sword Coast, but everything is awful, and you are the world's last hope" thing incredibly well.

Awesome adventure. I've been looking for a cool apocalyptic adventure for a while now and I'm really excited to run this one!

first let me say a star was taken off because it felt you need the sourcebook. it is okay. Its It's not really good or bad. personally I wasn't a fan of formatting, I also felt it was repetitive to have the monster stat blocks and then the reference to where it came from

TL/DR: Loved it. Get it. Tell your friends. I had to force myself to finish reading this prior to adding a review. Rise of Vecna was easily one of the most enjoyable Forgotten Realms adventure reads for me. Tropes, references, and delightful humor had me smiling many many times. Solid character work and nice set piece battles have me eager to DM this at my next opportunity. Hopefully once part 3 and the Gazetter are complete, this will have the POD release it richly deserves.

A fantastic adventure, well written and leaves room for growth. The premise is fantastic, and perfect to throw a wrench at folks who have played 5e for a long time.
