First of all, I've never been disappointed by one of Adam's products. The amount of detail he puts into everything is incredible.

Second of all, this fills a need that is otherwise overwhelming to try and address. It lets that character who is a blacksmith actually start building a smithy as they progress in levels, or that alchemist set up an apothecary and so on.

Fleshed out businesses and homes just add to the depth of a campaign.

I'm very excited to put this to use in a homebrew I'm working on.

Well thought out with lots of suggestiions and ideas... I quite enjoyed it.

TL;DR: Good Supplement, too pricey.

The basic rules for construction, furnishing and staff are very easy to understand and apply. The all around cost balance seems well thought out. Different rooms with different costs require a varying amount of minimum squares to have their benefits applied. Many of them grant you stat bonuses, which modify your potential income. Some grant you little bonuses that actually come into play in your regular dice rolls. A few of them grant you significant boons, such as new spells or companions. The reason this supplement doesn't get 5 starts from me is the rather hefty price tag. Although teased in the index of the (very revealing) full-size preview, 12 pages are exclusively dedicated to the Appendix, containing sample establishments and stat blocks of creatures and spells, which add very little to the otherwise very crunch-filled supplement. Also, be weary. Your gold income is very unreliable and chance based! Not that that's necessarily a bad thing in a game about talking and rolling dice.
