Another great little micro dungeon. I didn't modified it a bit to take out some of the powerful magical items. I wasn't ready to give all that stuff to the party at level 9. But the encounter and scenario is still great.

I really enjoyed the entire expanded tower series -- I keep recommending them to anyone who runs Chapter 7. Ythryn deserves lots of extra love.

The content included here was lots of fun! This one for my group ended up being an expansion of the Necromancy tower since they went there first. So they have to rush over here along with Cadavix. Tying the two towers together was a great idea. My party actually ended up making a deal with the oblex who now has the High Necromancer and High Enchantress memories-- they may go back to see what else they can glean from that ancient Netherese source of memories. The husk of the poor enchantress sits there to this day, being fed upon. What a cruel fate, but this isn't Disneyland folks.

Colorful level and map, but with a dark finish to it. It's a great addition. It makes a great seed on which to expand further! My imagination was whirring, as you can see below in my review.

One minor consideration: I would note that there is a chardalyn staff of charming in Chapter 6, so there's some redundancy for this staff found in this module. That being said, this one isn't cursed so if a player really likes the one from Chapter 6, they can take this new one and maybe destroy the old one on the Anvil for abjuration tower. I made the staff here have 1 more ability to spice it up, 1 charge allows you to get advantage on a deception roll to tell a nice white lie. :)

I expanded this tower a lot further though. As written here, this one is a fun stop (and more fun than the default module) with a great added love story. That being said, my campaign we wanted more maps, etc. So I added 2 key levels to mine which were more fun than expected and perhaps I'll release a free version of those. Just in case they are useful puzzles for your party, I'll summarize them here:

Extra Dorm Level: I added a destroyed dormitory level with lots of broken beds, etc. In the center of the room was a sealed stairway. Upon entering the room everyone has to make a DC 15 WIS save or be Suggested to "Make the room spotless" (even those who succeed know what was suggested). So part of the group just starts cleaning everything-- it turns out the members of the dorm couldn't go up to the testing chambers higher until their dorms were spotless. That was easier back in the day, but now you have to spend a lot of time rebuilding bunk beds and cleaning debris. Once you've got it all clean, the door opens and you can go to the next level. Testing Chamber Level: Before you go up to the testing chamber, you have all players pre-roll a saving throw (DC 17) vs dominate person, though they don't know it's happening. The testing chamber is a "battle simulation" test. Basically one player puts on a hanging helmet on the wall that blinds/deafens them to the real world-- when they do, they see effectively a chess board with magen on it and floating practice dummies. They get the impression their job is for the magen they control to attack the practice dummies. What really is happening in real life (unknown to the players) is that any dominated players are seen as magen in the "simulation" and those who saved are practice dummies. The dominated members are trying to incapacitate (nonlethal) those who passed their saving throws. The player controlling this is unaware of what's happening, and you probably have to work hard to avoid spoiling the illusion at the table. Once all the dummies are "unconscious" the next level is opened but not before. If the players figure out what's going on somehow, they can line it up such that only 2 people are in the fight so only one person has to go unconscious to move forward.

I also expanded this tower to have its entrance be a metal portculis that will lift when you cast Friends on a slow-moving magnetic elemental on the outside of the tower. The creature gets mad at you when Friends expires and it tries to creep down slowly to "get you" (it can't really). Its magnetism pulls open the door for people to enter.

Also, as mentioned in my other reviews, this series leaves me hungry for more. I would love to have an expanded Spire of Iriolarthas-- the thing is the size of like 2-3 sections of the city itself and after running expanded towers, all I want is to see the spire take this series into the sky. :) Great stuff!

great additions to the adventure. The effort that has gone into these and the artwork is brilliant. Can't wait to add them into our Roll20 run through of Frostmaiden.
