I implemented this at my table because I wanted the feats to feel more heroic making my players have to truly think about when to rest and short rests being 10 minutes is such a great way to make the pace in a dangerous dungeon feel more realistic. Long Rest revision has allowed so much more roleplay opportuity in those moments as well rather than just something handwaved.
I have a couple players in my group who almost have the monster manual memorized. This allows me to quickly tweak monsters or even create entire new monstrosities to challenge my players with. As always, your content is top tier!
