Bought this back when it first came out and never left review. Really fun book that added a lot of depth to an otherwise bland mechanic from the original 5E source materials.

This book in my opinion really delivers a unique playstyle for some classes who were constantly craving for more poisons and potion utility overall. I would totaly recommend Tome Of Poisons as it introduces brand new and detailed characteristics to the whole game but also new ideas and flexibility in the DND book composition community.

I have seen many players who create wizards, warlocks or rogues who wish to create poisons but the 5e created the poisons kit without implementing any actual usage of it. Tome of Poisons provides some really cool potions that allows these kind of players to invest in theirs poisons kit and expand their abilities and even their play styles due to the large variate of effects they provide.

an absolutely necessary supplement to any campaign. Cannot recommend enough. The poisons are well thought out and not too overpowered, while still being effective and threatening. A+++++

Truly an incredible addition to any Dm, or Players collection. The inclusion of buff toxins with penalties is such a fun idea to work with, and I'll definetly be giving players "potions" that look friendly on the outside next time they murder hobo the seemingly friendly NPC. Seriously though, having a tool skill gradient for seperating rarity, and difficulty of brewing poisons, definetly makes for a more tailored poisoners kit. @revilo_dark

Honestly amazing! Already implemented it in my campaign and the players using poisons are extatic.

I had always thought that the poisons in DND were lacking, i found it boring to use them because the effects were quite mild and the uses were limited. In my campaign I wanted to have a band of assassins try to stop the party before they uncover a big secret, but I didn't want them to attack with a frontal assualt because thats not how assassins should be played. This book saved me so much time because now i can just look up a tier appropriate poison to use, instead of taking ages out of my prep time to come up with one. This product is definitely a 5/5, and worth it for any DM who wants to spice up encounters and shop shelves!

One of my players wanted to play an assassin because of the poisoners kit and was really disappointed by the lack of interesting poisons inthe source books. as soon as i saw this i had to buy it and it's worth 5 times the price. all the poisons are intesting and well balanced if you look at the ingredients and the level you have to be to craft them. 10/10 book would recommend. @bad._.dm

AMAZING Tome! Really high quality finish, full of unique and well thought-through poisons for every occasion, and a really good set of rules for using the poisoners kit. This is exactly what my campaign needed. Actually this is what EVERY campaign needs, all those times going into an apothecary and only being able to buy health poisons and a 1d4 posion (if you're lucky) and now we have 50 unique poisons for every situation imaginable. You'd be silly if you don't buy this book because I think every DM & Player should have access to these options!

Ever since I started playing D&D, I wanted to play a poison-based character, but i alway felt like the poisons provided in DMG and boring old "poison, basic" were too clunky and simplistic, with no real detail of how to craft them or interesting effects - the Tome removed this issue by providing an easy-to-understand, effective poison crafting system with believable recipes and effects, all beautifully laid out.

I'm DMing now as opposed to playing, but that makes this all the more useful, as I have an enormous array of poisons, both harmful and helpful, for potion sellers to stock, and for players to gain access to as they level up (thanks to the smooth proficiency bonus-based tier system introduced), allowing me to massively improve my game.

Overall, I reckon that this is a must-have for any DMs, no matter what campaign style they're running, as it has options to suit all flavours of play, and at less than £0.06 per poison, its impossible to not see the value

One of the most difficult parts of writing a homebrew mechanic is the art of balancing. The first thing that surprised me about this product wasn't just the bad@$$ art or the fact that it took this long for poisons to get appropriately appreciated, but the system for creation. The tier system and DCs make it so that your PCs won't be running around with God-tier weapons, while still opening it up to the world and giving your characters something else to look forward to when they level up if they want to focus on poisoning. A truly needed addition to 5E and I am so excited to incorporate this for my Trickster Cleric! @thomas_no

I always wanted something extra to deal with all the types of kits available and was excited for the more indepth detail that Xanathar's guide looked to provide, but it fell slightly from my expectations. The Tome of Poisons has really hit that want from me and I would love to see as much effort put into other kits like herbalism kit or Forgery kit. This is easily one of the best 3 bucks I've spent and can't wait to use it and allow my players to feel like the proficiencys in those aren't just filler on their character sheets. 10/10, would buy again.

Great supplement for any game. My players will have fun figuring out why NPC's have new and unheard of poisons, and may finally take poison sporting monsters seriously!
