We had the pleasure of covering this fantastic product on our show Crit Academy. You can find the episode HERE.. We absolutely had a blast with this amazing product. We are huge fans of the work done by Jason and Themis. This product put us in the driver seat of creating our own malicious maladies to torment and torture our players. We love that it is set up in such a way that we can randomize the process or choose and pick and choose them like a bitchin build your own pizza format. While we love this product, we did feel that some of the ailments may have been a little too similar to the points of almost being duplicates, but given the amount of content this was more of a nit pick than anything else. Lastly, in some parts the product seems more formal than others. This may likely be due to two main authors instead of just one. Neither of these really effect the amazing content contained, just small observations that are a minor distraction from the majesty that is "The Malady Workshop"! We highly recommend this product.

We had the pleasure of covering this awesome product on our show Crit Academy! Check out the full coverage here!
This exciting product really brought to life something that is sometimes missing in DnD, and that's "a party that slays together, stays together!". This supplement gives a cool set of rules that allows you to achieve just that. Special rules for team based attacks, giving me that old school Marvel teamwork! What's better, it's delivered from the perspective of a two-headed ettin. Fantastic to read. The only real criticism, is that many of the features don't seem to follow the WotC format. This can make some interpretations difficult, but the DM can usually work it out! Great work guys! This is a must have!

Loved this adventure. Ran it for one of my tables. It gave off a classic scooby doo vibe. Highly recommend!

Absolutley loved this adventure. The idea of the Wizard's Egg being this place for the most destructive and uncontrollable magic just filled me with joy. Then having to break in and get out was just cherry on the top. Great work!

Just started playing with fantasy grounds and this was the first adventure I've ran. I have to say I think the idea of starting at level zero was really neat and many will like it. It wasn't exactly my tables jams, but thats ok. I do love the plots and twists tied to this adventure, a great intro for me into fantasy grounds. Great work Rob.

ThanX for the review. Are you giving it 4 stars because it wasn’t your players’ “jam”, or is there another reason you did not choose 5? |

Had an absolute blast playing a crawfolk monk. I loved beating the shit out of enemies with my big ass claw and tail. I think it was very clever to double the big ass claw as a shield and weapon. Kingler was a weapon of destruction unto himself! The inquisitive nature of the crawfolk make them excellent adventurers. This is a fantastic race. I think these bad boys would be an awesome encounter for PC's on the high seas. Make sure to check it out!

This awesome supplement was a main topic on our podcast Crit Academy. Listen here for full discussion.
We absolutely had a blast with Go for the Eyes. This handles an age old questions..."Why can't I chop that off or stab it there?" Being able to use a knowledge check to identify a weakness, or feature of the beast that can be the focus of gaining the upper hand is fantastic. For example a dragon's breath weapon is bar none one of the most ferocious feature it has. This supplement provides rules for that barbarian who asks "If I smash its throat in...then it can't breath fire right?" What player wouldn't love that? One of the coolest things is that its done in such a way that it actually makes the battle more dynamic and even punishing. If you attack the giants legs to bring him down to your level for instance, once he's on his knees, he now has a cleave attack. Which is just damn clever.
That being said, I do think there are some inherent risks. While the book gives you a massive selection of rules, I could totally see it leading to..well you let me cut off the beholders eyestock, why can't i chop off the berserkers arm? Cause...well players do that kind of stuff. I also was originally concerned with CR balace, but in the few instances I've used it, it surprisingly didn't make the encounters easier or anymore difficult, which was a concern I did have. That being said, this is a fantastic supplement and is a must buy in IMO. Great work Alex.

I really enjoyed this adventure. The disease filled gauntlet full of monsters and traps is fantastic. It has a great solid flow and is laid out well. So much so that you could run it with little prep. Generally I recommend reading an adventure first. This is well done enough that you probably could just grab and go. I loved the addition of a map for the players. A solid recommendation.

We recently interviewed Chris on our show Crit Academy. You can find it here. We had a real blast walking through this product. In the previous episode we had discussed the Guildmasters' of Ravnica and were quite shocked to see real no inclusion of the colors of mana and the planeswalkers. Chris did a great job filling that void. We absolutely loved the inclusion of details on how to run the planeswalkers as antagonists and protaganists. Fantastic addition to make them feel real. Great work. We really only have one criticism and that would be the basic layout and art. Most of us are well aware of the life of a busy adult and the cost of art. Thus these had minor impact on the rating. Overall, if you're looking to introduce interesting and detailed NPC's to your world, you can easily fit these into any settings, as the planeswalkers naturally shift to other planes. This would be a great lead into travelling to ravnica and experiencing a few adventures there before returning home.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Jeff Stevens and this amazing product on our podcast Crit Academy. Listen here. This product is a piece of golden art. The collection of villains are interesting, well developed and you're given options to introduce them not only as big bads, but also as quest givers or just information givers. Giving you great NPC's for your world with fleshed out backgrounds and some with maps for their lairs. A must have resource for any DM.
Great work Jeff!

This product absolutely blew us away. We covered this product on our most recent episode of the Crit Academy Podcast:. We were so excited to walk through this great content. We were instantly thrown back to our days of playing mech games like armored core and mech warrior. This book fits like a glove so well with the Ebberon and Ravnica's settings. The shear amount of content inside is mindblowing. Not only that, but the information is well thought out and very well balanced. Those of us here at Crit Academy give this a 5 star rating and a must buy! Great work guys!

Hello, I'm the host of the D&D discussion podcast Crit Academy. We just featured this amazing product on our show. Check it out here: http://critacademy.libsyn.com/episode-109-the-malady-codex
All we can say is wow! As a DM I love dieseases and poison effects. So much so, that my players would say I use them too much. Searching for food and roll a low survival check? Those nice looking mushrooms you were certain were safe...well now half the caravan is vomiting, and even some of the old ones passing away. This amazing tool just enhanced my love for the spread of these diseases. The supplement is well written, and far more thought out than anything i've planned out in my games. Thank you so much for this amazing 5 star product. Check out the show for our full thoughts as we review a few of the diseases and have great fun doing so!

I'm the host of a podcast called Crit Academy, a D&D discussion podcast. We had the pleasure of interviewing Anne on our show and asking her all about this amazing product. She shares with us the process and developement that went into it. You can find the interview here: http://critacademy.libsyn.com/episode-108-little-heroes
Thank you again for coming on the show Anne.
We cannot recommend this product enough. A must have! It's a powerful tool, not only as a guide to engaging children at your table, but also contains great tools and techniques for playing as a child in your own games. Special backgrounds, and racial options that really make your character feel as though you're playing a child, and not just saying so.
Great work Anne!

Our show Crit Academy just got a hold of this beauty and did an entire episode on it. You can listen here! http://critacademy.libsyn.com/episode-107-skill-challenges We truly believe 4e's skill challenges was one of the single best features to come from it. Robert has done a phenomenal job writing up this document to help DM's bring this powerful concept to 5e. This a 5 star product and must have for any 5e DM.
