This is amazing a great explanation on arcane theory. If you are playing a wizard I would highly recommend to bring more to your spellcasting.

I ran this for a friend for his birthday recently and we both throroughly enjoyed it. I was admittedly a little hesitant about running a 1 on 1 game, but this was set up so well that I was able to run it with minimal prep. Playing the minstral side kick as over the top as possible was a blast. I'm really looking forward to seeing more modules like this one and am already starting to plan a follow up to see just where things go.

Very well thought out, a masterfull desgined one-on-one game that expertly uses music, class design and thematic storytelling to its best. I've ran this for my good friend and found it easy and comfertable to run after a single read though. If you want to run a one-on-one game use this

I just finished running this for the third time last night. It was an absolute blast, and I cannot recommend this adventure enough. My players loved the characters, the story, and the encounters in this adventure, and are always so excited afterwards.

There's enough content in here to run even multiple times with the same person, though I've run it with three different people each time. There's no better way to spend two hours (or, with my RP-loving players, closer to five) playing D&D with someone. If you're anywhere remotely near on the fence, pick this product up and I can't imagine you'll be disappointed.

This is a very good, well thought out short adventure. I ran it for my son, who is still relatively new to D&D and we both enjoyed it over the 3 hours or so it took to complete. The player is straight into the action and is almost immediately given an ambiguous situation where they need to exercise their judgement, something that is repeated later in the adventure. I did expect my son to make more of the Blood Hunter class abilities, but he chose not to and completed the adventure simply with his fighting skills. We both liked Olos' character and abilities that became very useful in a couple of tight spots. If I ran this adventure again, I'd be tempted to reduce the player's level, or increase the monster's a little.

Overall, a short and well paced adventure for a solo player, with very good presentation, Recommended.

This was the first module I ever DM'd. The module was easy to follow and utilize even for a total novice like myself. Very fun, very immersive. My players loved this game so much, they now have high expectations of me! :)

I picked up this adventure because I really wanted to try out a one-on-one DnD adventure. I DM'd this for one of my friends who loves The Witcher. So, he was very interested in playing this Blood Hunter, Witcher-esque character. The adventure was great, well written and very easy to prepare, even as someone who isn't a practiced DM (we played via Roll20). Another plus was that the player felt emotionally connected to the story. There comes a couple of scenarios where the PC has to make a decision, and he gave them a ton of thought! At the end of the adventure, the PC was asking me to plan another session so that we can continue the story!

I picked this up last week after watching the Nerd Immersion review, and I ran it for my friends first 5e game last night. We both had a lot of fun with this story.

The format is easy to follow and reference, it conveys the witcher feeling, and the art is really good. I feel like I could continue the story, if I wish.

It is worth the purchase!

I picked this up after hearing everyone rave on Twitter and was not disappointed. The PDF is comprehensive, beautifully laid out, and easy to reference in-game. I imported the maps and lore assets to run for my wife in Roll20, which didn't take long at all. The maps were just too beautiful not to play directly on. If we had ran this tabletop I feel like it would be less than 30 minutes to prep and we got a great 3-4 hour game. The hook, pacing, and overarching story were great. We most enjoyed chapter 3 and the exploration, which is a pillar that comes up far too infrequent in my games. Also loved musical cues(with Spotify links!), built-in explanation for player death given it is a solo game, and the different options for continuation.

This was absoutely fantastic! The reactions from my wife's were priceless. Olos was a perfect NPC, the objective was clear, and all the resources given to the DM makes this an almost effortless adventure to run. It took us roughly 3 hours with a short break for a snack, but we were sad that it ended...sequel maybe? Cannot recommend this enough.

Fantastic! I cannot wait to run this myself. The only downside to this adventure, is that there isn't a similar corollary for every other 5e class. This would be great as a stand alone one shot sure, but I think it really shines as a way to try and get a friend, loved one, or totally new person into D&D. It's only 2 hours and it's designed to make the class shine to its fullest while also having impactful and powerful roleplay decisions.

The Blood Hunter by Anthony Joyce is a fantastic adventure for two people – one DM, and one player. This format is wonderful for couples, folks who can’t find local players, and aspiring DMs who want to practice their skills. This format is a new D&D experience that could be more memorable than a regular party!

The length of this adventure is refreshing as many players struggle to find any amount of time to play, and keeps the story moving. The class and driver of the story is the blood hunter class, which gives a unique opportunity to try out the class without much commitment.

Blood Hunter by Anthony Joyce (@Thrawn589)

This is my quick and dirty review with the intention to go more in depth in the future.

I’ve been captivated by the cover illustration by Gordon McAlpin (@gmcalpin) and colorist Rebecca McConnell (@purple_madness) of “a Blood Hunter waves a flaming sword at an unseen enemy while cradling the infant drow” since the first previews came out. It truly captures the essence of this adventure.

In Joyce’s words, this is an “adventure designed entirely around Matthew Mercer’s Blood Hunter class. This adventure is an experiment in one-on-one adventure design that focuses on maximizing the player’s immersion as they play their character. Every design choice I made in this adventure builds around the Blood Hunter class features.”

I’m absolutely captivated by this uniquely focused endeavour!

It combines the best parts of a choose your own with duet adventure, stripped down and sharpened into an awesomely effective and engaging experience!

This is your chance to feel like a Witcher, to be a Blood Hunter and experience a whirlwind few days in their complicated, exciting lives. Joyce has created a bold and uniquely focused adventure with serious heart, inventing a new adventure type, which is sure to catch on! This short, sweet adventure is filled with famous cameos, references, combat, roleplay all the good stuff that will delight and intrigue new and old players alike. I absolutely need to see more of this!
