I can wholehartedly recomend this DM's Guild book by Scott Bean, Heath Harris and Jeremy Forbing entitled 'The Balckstaff's Book of 1000 Spells'.If you want more spells to condier fro your characters or campaign BUY THIS BOOK FIRST. Here are some numeric breakdowns:

by spell Level: BBS/PHB, 0: 65/27, 1st: 165/62, 2nd:180/59, 3rd: 162/50, 4th: 135/35, 5th: 111/42, 6th:79/32, 7th: 62/20, 8th: 51/18, 9th: 50/16

by type or School: BBS/ PHB, Abjuration: 118/45, Conjuration: 127/52, Divination: 100/31, Enchantment: 120/34, Evocation: 180/73, Illusion: 46/29 Necromancy:142/27, Transmutation: 228/63

This little snapshot provides some insight into overall differences between the PHB and this tome (BBS). Budding Necromncer's get a big boost, Poor Illusionists may still be looking for more spells, but from 29 plus the 46 hereprovides 75 total, should help. The number of Cantrips is staggering, 27 in the PHB and another 65 herein. It's too bad there isn't a way to take some Cantrips as first level spells. As you can see from the numbers 1-5th level spells get over 100 new spells each. Other reviewers have great comments about this tome. I love the inclusion of so many old spells and 'lore spells' e.g. five spells by Laeral, four of Mordenkainen's magic and 15 no less, from Otiluke's library. I too caught a couple of odd text/misspellings and formatting errors are present, none so bad as to make the spells unusable. The art is very good and they didn't go overboard for my tastes. My only Complaint is that it is not availabe in Print on Demand format. If (when) it is, I will buy it as I foresee myself consulting it at the table often.

Well I will start off by confirming that this work is hard to read as I think it was translated from the original Portuguese. I am not an authority on grammar but I think many of the errors are simply the wrong word choice, for example the introduction concludes with the exclamation “Long live to the RPG!” I would have translated this as ‘Long live the RPG!’ further along we see the following: “Intelligence is undoubtedly the most important ability to any king of wizard you can be.” I think replacing ‘king’ with ‘kind’ makes more sense. If GUM (Grammar, Usage, and Mechanics) mistakes really bother you a lot this may not be the supplement for you.

However if you can get past this issue you will find 10 new Arcane Traditions including • The Alchemical Mastery • The Arcane Archery • The Arcane Ritualism • The Automaton Mastery • The Demonology • The Gnomish Artifice • The Mystical Theurgy • The Planeswalking • The Shadow Weave Wizardry • The Thayan Wizardry

Each of which is well thought through. The author demonstrates his thorough understanding of the many mechanics of D&D 5e as he describes each of the various new traditions and their implementation into a 5e campaign. Each of these traditions is very creative and imaginative. Ever wanted a devout wizard with access to both arcane and divine powers, well the Mysitical Threurgy tradition might meet your needs. Want a character that works with and masters the demons, fiends, and other beings of the lower planes? The Demonology tradition is likely right up your alley. Does your character specialize in ritual magic; the arcane ritualism tradition should be your first stop. What did your elf archer do for a good time for the last oh, I don’t know, 40 years? What’s that, perfect the blending of archery and arcane powers you say. Look no further than this great tome. And at $1.00 you can’t go wrong.

This is a definite buy if like me you have interest in alternate arcane wizard sub types.

GUM +4 Looks, design quality +4.9 (no page numbers) Creativity and ease of implementation +5 4.6 overall Mr. Goncalves if you can get me copy of the text in Word or Google docs format I'll edit if for free to the best of my abilites.

I really liked this suplement. It is a collection of page after page of Evocation spells. Some are variants on existing spells (e.g. miniature fireball which is, as you might imagine, a smaller radius Fireball spell). The indecies, table of contents, quick spell descriptions and sane organization of the spells (by level then alphabetical) should be noted by WOTC for any future spellbooks they consider publishing. I am definitely looking to buy the illusion spell book and looking forward to the conjuring and transmutation volumes of the future. IF you've got a wizard character that chose the evocation school you will likey appreciate this volume as much as I do.
