I ran this last weekend. Easy to pick up with minimal prep on my side. The artwork is really cute and my players loved being goblins instead of killing them for once.

Played this as a one-shot to end this year's sessions. All four players liked it! One positive mentioned was the change in tone/mechanics from our usual play. Since it's more about shenanigans and escape than fighting and keeping HP up.

Overall the content is just about the right length to read and prepare. Enough detail to make it interesting, but not so much to make it overly difficult to keep track of. I do wish the pursuit threshold was explained a bit more. And maybe a suggestion for how chases should run, mechanically. I also wasn't sure when to use the Special Events table, and just forgot to make arbitrary use of it once or twice during the session.

I like the 3 hours' real-time limit for this heist, and the pressure it applied. Enough to remind us to keep moving (which helps keep it a one-shot), but not so much as to feel stressed (until the last few minutes).

This is a fun and unique adventure that I ran with my party for Christmas 2022. They absolutely loved that it wasn't your typical "go to dungeon, kill things, get treasure/item, session over" adventure. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to run a session that includes stealth, humor, and lots of Goblin shenanigans !!

I needed a oneshot with about 6 hours notice. This one was so easy to pick up and play and my chaos gremlin players took to it so quickly. Two goblins each for three characters. Peepers got left behind quickly which meant perception and stealth checks were hilarious.

I accidentally eliminated a couple of the special abilities from the adventurers and it turned out amazing. They managed to get 70 percent of the loot without issue, but managed to knock out a human and charm the adventurer.

I'd highly recommend this for folks who just need to kill some time. The built in time mechanics make this a great, adaptable oneshot, especially if your players need to get a little silly out.

Just finished running it for my group on Roll20 and it was simply amazing. They escaped with an improvised jet made out of a sled, weird flammable bowel movements and the logic you could expect from goblins. All the while they had an huge snowball containing a puppy anchored to their vessel and Arnold Schwarzenegger chasing them trough the village. Great experience.

Ran this as a one shot for a group of friends when our normal DM cancelled session pretty last minute, decided to throw this together on Roll20 for the players who could make it and they had a blast with the many goblin shenanigans they could get up to.

Though they did not believe that some of the random encounters weren't just me throwing things in their favor once or twice. That being said, the random encounters are incredibly fun and gave the players more reminders that they were on a time limit.

Going to be running this again in the future for at least one or two other groups!

My players and I had an absolute BLAST with this! We're running The Lost Mine of Phandelver, and I decided to play this out in the small town of Phandalin. While the adventurers were out on an adventure, the goblins they had befriended and two of the children in town went on a mission to gather up cozies for their adventurer friends.

Other than changing the names and pictures, I basically ran this exactly as it came (and that's only because I was plugging it into my own campaign). We had a FANTASTIC time and laughed more than we have in any other session. The simple game mechanics help the group focus on exploration, roleplaying, creativity, and fun. I aaaabsolutely recommend this product!!

(If I were to add any constructive input at all, it might be to provide two or three more example locations. Having said that, however, I was able to use the mechanics provided to stat out my own buildings SUPER easily!! Again – this is AWESOME)

This adventurer is really really nice. I've just ran it for one of my groups and they went to town with it. Goblins are awesome anyway. But Sweet Baboo filled his diaper with well you know. And Sneako than switched a pillow with the full daiper under a humans head. Rolled for it and it worked.

If you players are really getting in the act as a goblin vibe this is a garanteed awesome evening

Ran this session over Google Hangouts, of all things, while quarantined; had originally prepped this for a cancelled con. Highly recommended, high-hijinks, heist. You do need to make sure to get buyin from the group that this is a heist as a typical murder hobo approach will lead to a lot of dead villagers, goblins, or probably both. A few suggestions for DMs when running this adventure:

  • There are a lot of neat new mechanics suggested to keep this adventure moving and on-genre, but to make them work you might need to streamline other things out. Personally, I preferred highlighting the Big Bad Adventurer and removing random encounters and cold effects. (I also had a beginner group where the extra complexity would not have added to the fun).
  • I had literal hourglasses ready for the con, as well as a big whiteboard to track the Big Bad Adventurer. The timer didn't quite have the same effect when run online, since it wasn't something everyone could see (if we had started the adventure on the hour, maybe people could have cued in to the hour and half-hour marks... if there had been less drinking...)
  • To help out with my improv, I created a few additional tables to add some variety to the "regular houses." Mine tended towards fairy tales, as the original target audience was children. Alas, the adults proved homicidal when it came to poor Little Miss Muffet... though they snagged her Tuffet as a "pillow" substitute. The point being, you might want to have a few additional tables like that ready if you're not up for total freestyling.
  • The character cards were a very nice recent addition to this kit. The artwork is great at conveying the concept for each goblin! If you run this game in physical space, you might want to add the cards side-by-side with a "special rules" sheet that lay out the game timer, cold effects, and other scenario rules. The Big Bad Adventurer is much more effective as a forcing mechanic when everyone knows exactly what's at stake!

Overall, a very fun adventure that my crew of 40-somethings enjoyed. Now, how to find the time to try it again with kids...

Kai reached out to me to review this little gobber, and I must say it was a hell of a lot of fun. It is cookey, unique, and super kid friendly - this is a fantastic title to introduce your kids to especially. And - it is a wonderful little holiday themed adventure that can bring some joy into any home or game. What Kai demonstrates in Goblin Heist is the true energy and joy of a new author on the Guild brimming and glowing - and having been there in October - it is so nice to see new energy here in the archives of fan content. So, if you are looking for a quick little one shot to play for Christmas or New Years, this is one you should snag. Comics, Clerics, & Controllers d20 Roll: Nat 20

This was an outstanding title. Way to make a splash with your first release!

The unique mechanics for this game add so much more to the one shot, and serve to make things really interesting. Perfect for my holiday game this season! The themes and provided templates for various goblin types, each with interesting abilities makes this a real one of a kind product. Highly recommend buying it and trying it out with your group. Perfect for a group that loves to roleplay interesting things, and perfect also for a group that enjoys having a couple of drinks and enjoying a fast-paced game of fun and shenanigans!

I can't really find much to fault the product on, so the one recommendation I have for future releases is to invest in a template and produce your future works on InDesign or something similar. The work that is included in this product is of such a high quality for the value included that future works would benefit GREATLY from being in a more fancy-looking layout.

All in all, outstanding work. Definitely looking forward to future releases from this author.
