Paladin Subclass: Oath of the Celestial

To start with, the presentation of the subclass is beautiful. The cover art is eye-catching and stylish, very impressive and comparable with the alternative cover of the official WoTC books. And the other art piece used is thematic and very fitting as well.

As for the Paladin itself, it has a clear, very compelling theme, with which creating a cool character will be very fun. Furthermore, on the mechanics side of thing, the Oath Spells chosen for this Oath are thematically appropriate and also very useful. The class features are creative, fitting of the concept, balanced and appropriately powerful.

I'd allow this Paladin Oath at my table.

Hydra Hunt

This adventure is fantastically made! I absolutely recommend it!

Although the premise is simple, the sheer amount of content is more than enough to run for several sessions. It is well-structured and easy to follow, not to mention made in such a way that it can seamlessly be included in any setting you might be running.

The options and unique mechanics regarding encounters are fun and lend themselves to making a fun little adventure, if your players are on the higher end of the recommended levels, or a proper challenging hunt where your players will have to be tactical or lucky to get the upper hand. Overall, very enjoyable, with beautiful art, very professionally laid out and designed with DM’s ease in mind.

I would run this at my table without a second thought.

Finding Familiar: Rules for Evolving Twenty New Familiars
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

This is a lovely work and a great guide for DMs who have a party of pet-hoarding players. It introduces plenty of new ways to make familiars more interestings as a concept and element of each player's narrative path, as well as present new creatures that could make great additions to any world a DM might be running.

Employing this will definitely empower the familiars by a fair margin, but the clue is that you just need to know when to give out upgrades for your player's familiars. Don't do too many too early and you'll be fine. My personal recommendation would be to wait until players hit level 4 and then start the path of evolution for the familiars using the rules in this product.

Additionaly, all the options of this book make for great little unique companions for NPC Wizards and Warlocks.

Overall, a fantastic little addition to my game. Definitely recommend it to everyone else.

The sheer amount of content is definitely worth the money. Additionally, the art is beautiful and very fitting for the tone of this book.

The creatures are all very cool to see and I will definitely use many of these in my own personal campaign.

I am working on a similar project for greek mythology (although with some added fantasy vibes) so this is a great guide on how to present this type of content.

Gods of Olympus - Piety Mechanics for the Greek Pantheon
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild
by David S. R [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 11/08/2020 21:04:14

So I have been running a greek mythology-focused campaign for almost 3 years. This was a great little addition that all of my players were very excited about as it not only gave them an extra power boost, but also gave them concrete opportunities to try to interact more throughly with the faith part of the setting I created.

So for positive points:

  • The adaption of the Theros Piety system makes things very orderly, which is great for bookkeeping.
  • A lot of research and thought was put into the inclusion of the deities, reflecting several myths that are very important for their characterization.
  • The domains and classes selected as the most common followers I mostly agree with (might have a nitpick here and there, but nothing big).

Overall I'm very pleased. I'm happy to incorporate this into my campaign and all of my players agree. I'd be delighted to see this developed for even more Greek gods, the titans and even other pantheons such as egyptian or norse.
