this class is so interesting and seems well balanced for what it is trying to emulate. My one question is how exactly do the mutations work? more so how do I know how many one can take at a time?

Thanks for your generous review! The Mutations work exactly like Eldritch Invocations do for warlocks. As you level up in the Abomination class, you gain additional mutations; the number you have according to your Abomination level is given in the Abomination class table (as stated in the Mutations class feature). When that number increases, you can choose a new mutation to gain (as long as you fulfill its prerequisites). Hope that helps!
