I can only wish for more such comprehensive, content-loaded sourcebook for every setting. Packed with new options for players and DMs, by reading it I could almost feel ideas seeds planting and growing in my head! Every location, city, important figures and events and history...it was all and more than I could ask when talking about campaign/setting guide. I also happen to own another campaign guide from the same author - Rashemen - and the quality is amazing. Wihout a doubt, Joe's guides are the best sources a DM could find for his Forgotten Realms campaign! Thank you for that!

This was my first non-Wizard of the Coast book, and it was given me as a birthday present a year ago, then I decided to buy the digital version. This campaign guide is an excellent product if you want your players to explore a new region where everything is diferent (and more dangerous too) compared to the Sword Coast.

The authors made an excellent job to provide enough information to adapt and plan an adventure module or campaign in the region of the Great Dale. Factions, historic events, and locations are interesting to read, and new players options are awesome to play. I actually played as a Volodni (a new race that this book provides) for a one-shot in Ravenloft and I had a blast playing it.

Although the graphical design of the book is too simple, it is worth the money. I assure you that if you want to know more about the Forgotten Realms' Unapprochable East, this book is a good place to start.

Good sourcebook with loads for players. This book introduced the idea of a druid that's bent on destruction to me. If you have an assassin character in your campaign, you should get this book before you roll them up. Great backgrounds; lots of adventure ideas will spring forth after you read this book. Must have for DM's with assassin characters.

This one is huge and has ten authors. The pdf and hardcover book fills it's 144 pages with full-color art and details on all sorts of details on the Great Dale section of the Unapproachable East. This book actually rivals such books from WotC like The Sword Coast guide and the Icewind Dale. This book covers the people of the lands with new classes (sub-classes), new backgrounds, new feats as well as new spells and magic items. The lands are covered with geography, history, factions, friends, and foes. There are guides for playing in the lands as well. The author's introduction sets the stage for the book AND I think it also a good selling point for why people would want to use the DMSGuild rules over the OGL.

In the case of this book it works well. I also appreciate that authors not only took the time to properly credit the artists, the obtained commissions for some art as well. This more than justifies the $19.95 price tag for the PDF. It is also one of the few DMSGuild books I would want as a hardcover too. If I played in the Realms more. If I ever get a Realms 5e going then this will be on my list for getting the hardcover version.

While the Witches of Rashemen are mentioned, there is no "Witch" class. Plenty of Warlock and Wizard sub-classes though.
