I grabbed this one-shot as a last-second pivot when our group couldn't meet. The group was already fighting Kobolds, so it made for a convenient detour for our campain.

Loved it. Simpe, direct, silly. Did a great job integrating Kobold lore and society. In fact, I loved it so much I decided to run it again with my other group a week later to fill in some dead-time while one of our group members was on vacation.

It's a great one-shot. Silly, just dangerous enough, and the puzzles feel challanging but not impossible.

Highly recommended. Really enjoyed it both times I ran it with my groups.

This was the second story I DMed. The story was well written and easy to read. The story was interesting and fun, and gave my players a lot to interact with. There was a lot of delightful little details and descriptions. I quite enjoyed this story and remains one of my favorite stories I've ever DMed.

Ran this adventure, but had to cut the number of enemies due to time constraints. Still went great!

Ran this adventure twice this week (once virtually on Fantasy Grounds and a second time in-person for a different group) and had a blast with both sessions. I like how the openess of the arena gives the players the freedom to explore different areas on their own. I also really enjoyed the mechanics of 1) occasionally adding in additional combatants to keep the pressure on the PCs and 2) activing random traps when a natural 1 is rolled. That second one led to some absolutely hilarious moments during both games.

VERY FUN! I just ran this for a party of four 4th-level characters. The game lasted about 3-3.25 hours (they used an owl familiar to bypass a bit). I'm not sure what to call out as high points because there were a lot of fun/interesting decisions and moments! I'm not sure how many combat rounds the whole thing lasted (plus some non-combat periods), but probably at least 15-20 rounds. It moved pretty fast. When pre-reading the module, it seemed like a lot to keep track of, but once the game was running I had no difficulty remembering everything important. It was pretty well organized.

This module is a great example of how you can challenge even 4th level players with an extended encounter and mostly low CR enemies.

The first little bit started off slow because the party made some good decisions, but once things got rolling (ha ha ha) it got crazy. Darkmantles almost ate someone’s faces, 2 PCs were reduced to 0 at least once, everyone used up all their spell slots, and they all walked out of the arena with around single-digit HP and a satisfied and amused crowd of kobolds.

DM advice: 1) I found an hour-long arena crowd noise set on Youtube and looped it while we played. 2) The $11 to print off the player-facing map in 36x48 at FedEx office was totally worth it. I'd hate to try to draw it in dry-erase marker. 3) I didn't want to keep track of the custom kobold-trap themed items so I let them pick 2 items from the Championship Room. Between that and betting on themselves, they came out pretty rich. It's nice to have a module that's not super stingy.

Again, it was very fun, I enjoyed running it, and everyone had fun. I hope to run it again someday.

Trap-Trap! is an exciting gauntlet-style adventure for low tier parties! With multiple adventure hooks, the annual kobold gladiatorial challenge "Trap-Trap" can be chosen by bold heroes, or thrust upon them. The party must survive the celebration by solving a series of puzzles -- where every choice has a consequence -- while being heckled, attacked, and maybe praised by wide-eyed kobold spectators! The gauntlet itself fits into about 10 pages making this one-shot easy to prep, its subterranean kobold-cave backdrop can be plugged into any setting, and there's some replayability (as this event occurs every year).

Trap-Trap! comes with DM and player maps, as well as handouts of several illustrations -- and I love how the inky black, white, and red sketches match the theme of this wild module! Purely an aesthetic choice: I think the formatting could be improved with a parchment or plain white background (to match the art style). If your campaign involves kobolds, or you want it to, Trap-Trap! is the adventure you're looking for!
