Regarding background and information about Malar and everything that has to do with him, this book is worth its money and I would give it 5 stars.
You receive tons of informations about rites, foes and friends, where Malar is influencal. There are some feats, spells, subclasses that might have to be tweaked a bit but these give lots of ideas.
Regarding stat blocks of various NPC's and monsters this simply book doesn't work as most of them are simply wrong and not workable! This has to be changed and a bit of work has to be put into it. Then it would be a full fledged 5 star product. High priests with 40 HD? and +14 attack bonus? - Beasts of Malar with +18 Stealth and Acrobatics?, Kazgaroth with Perception +4 but passive perception 21... The list is very long and as I cannot use nearly any of these stat blocks without heavily modifying or rewrite them completely I have to give 1 star for this part and this is a major part of the book and what I need in an running campaign.
Therefore I give 3 stars for the whole book.
