I was intrigued by the idea behind this product and I was not disappointed. This is a very fair price for the quality of this product. In a simple form you get a nice prop if you that's your style of play. The scrolls come in both plain and textured. Personally I like the plain since you then find some patterned paper of your own to have the effect be seamless. True to the description you can either leave the names on the scrolls and have them simply be props or drop the names off and provide your players charts tyo decipher the scrolls. A medium method that requires one chart and an advanced that requires two charts and helps your determine the properties which allows you to deduce the spell. Very flavorful and really helpful if you want to learn your spells. The designs are nice and the elemental symbols have good variety to make the spells each feel unique.
Things that could be improved are really minor quibles and they are things that aren't necessary but would be really helpful to have. For example I saw no bookmarking on the PDF. This would make navigation far simpler especially because we have 597 pages here. The plain scrolls start at the middle of the PDF so finding them requires a some digging. In addition there are a lot of spells here. The deluxe treatment would be a bookmark for each, but even just alphabet markers would be a real help. I persoanlly like this product so much, I plan to add the individual bookmarks to each spell myself. I'm not crazy about cutting the written names off the scrolls. It would be great if there was a layer that could be dropped to remove the names. However, not sure PDFs have that functionality that's something to explore.
All in All a great product at a very good price. Looks like this is a first offering from this author, would definetly love to see more as this is a great first start.
Follow Up- The PDF editor I have does auto bookmarking so I have a bookmark for every spell just need to sort them for better navigation. Definitely a nice feature to add.
