I used this in my mad mage game. It was good starting material I needed to add to the white mould story so added more moulds and a reskinned shambling mound. I wish added a Heroes great scene afterwards where the party was rewarded with hats made from Trillimacs, described in chapter 4 of DOTMM.

Review for The The Fungus Garden – An Undermountain Encounter Written by Richard Thompson Illustrated by Katrina Latve Edited by Davis Lodzins

27 Mar 2019

The The Fungus Garden – An Undermountain Encounter Written by Richard Thompson Illustrated by Katrina Latve Edited by Davis Lodzins is a really good short adventure site. I like the cover art and really like the mushroom pic on page 6.

I call these “back pocket” adventures, something a DM can have for when the adventure goes off the rails. These are great for a DM!

Constructive Criticism for this product is sparse. I like the set up as it is like the Waterdeep Dungeon Of The Mad Mage level descriptions. There is an NPC here named Vargos Halra’an who is given levels like a character, and I would suggest doing what they do in other adventures for 5e where instead they would say “Vargos Halra’an is a Druid [in bold to denote the Monster Manual entry on page 346] with the drow racial features and has the Wild Shape feature as a 9th level druid”.

I like the 5 Side quests or story hooks for this product. I did not compare the stats for the one new monster.

The map is beautiful but has no compass or scale on the map (but I am glad you added some detail of its size on page 4).

I would love to see more from you guys!
