Just finished running RHoD for a group, using the 3.5 module from DMs Guild and this 5e conversion guide and map pack. The maps and guide were a huge help and saved me a ton of prep time.

I didn't have a problem with most of the stat blocks or treasure blocks. I adjust HP on the fly ( within the stated Hit Die range), though, both to provide dramatic opponents and to keep my monster-stat-block-memorizing players on their toes. I ran most of the baddies in here at the stated (average) HP level.

As mentioned in the previous review, the CR 30 Aspect of Tiamat was the only issue I ran into. I know CR calculations are more like reading entrails than actual math, but CR 30 seems way off from the original (3.5) CR 13. She would have totally stomped my PCs (even with their OP loot from previous encounters) making it a downer campaign ending. We won! NO, YOU LOSE!!! [gobble-gobble-gobble]

I reskinned an Adult White Dragon with a few tweaks. It KO'd a few PCs, but they managed to survive and were ecstatic with their brush with death/TPK.

The Ghostlord was a nightmare as well, but my party took all of the provided hints to not fight him and turned him against the horde. Returning his philactery to him probably wasn't the greatest long term solution, but they lived to fight another day.

Overall a great piece of work. Thank you!

The maps are very useful and the monster stats are, largely, sufficient. They feel a bit on the weak side, but that isn't hard to fix. What disappoints me is the handling of some major NPCs, namely the real final boss (CR 13 in the OG RHOD, 30[!!!] in this) and the Ghostlord (Similar issue, 13 to 21+). They are far more powerful here than they would be in a 3.5 RHOD game. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it did not work for the game I intended to run and I had to completely make my own stats for the final boss. Finally, there is the matter of price; you can get the actual module for half the price of this. Maps costing more is one thing, but when your supplement for an adventure is double the price of said adventure (and costs AS MUCH without the maps), you'd at least expect a bit MORE from the results. This is something that does what it set out to do, but not in any particularly amazing fashion; just an adequate one.
