I am a DM who loves keeping scenes and environments as open as possible to the possibilities and putting my own fun spin on pre-made modules and such. I just need an outline and I am good to go to create fun for my players.
These dungeons are PERFECT for a creative DM to extrapolate on, and they have enough detail as well enemies, hazards, and general happenstances for DMs who are more straightforward to just follow and go. I ran The Hidden Vault, The Crypt In The Swamp, and am currently running my PCs through Lover's Villa.
An example on how these can be so open for such small, succint dungeons is that I went ahead and turned these into fun stories of their own. For Lover's Villa, I asked myself: Why is a medusa there outside of what is described? Who are her captives? And I turned it into a tale of a noblewoman whose abusive husband cursed her to get her family fortune, turning her into a monster for his own gains... until he got his in the end. My PCs don't know this yet, of course, so let's see how they turn it!
