I just ran this for a group of beginners with no DND experience. It was a great introduction to the three pillars. Each adventures offered opportunities to roleplay, explore and fight. Combat was well balanced. I appreciated the tips on adjusting encounters. The players enjoyed it and loved being the "heroes" of the prophecy. It was also easy to add elements of PC backstories. I will be running other adventures in this series.

The 4 mini adventures are very great to get in MOOD for the Rising Shadows Campaign. Why I can give just 4 stars though is:

  1. It would be great to include some more Background Information here: About the Culture of Ffolk and Gark's Goblins which both are in included in later adventures.

Be aware: The Adventures can be very deadly for lvl 1 Chars.

Moonshae Treasure Hunt was a great adventure to run as a first time DM. For the most part, it was very clearly written. I liked how it was neatly laid out by sections, with the monster stats at the end of each section, instead of at the very end. The suggested adjustments for the encounters based on the party strength were very helpful. The stories wer all entertaining with colorful characters. I particularly enjoyed "A Weighty Matter" and the residents of Bloodvahrer. I think at the end, the players were wondering, "Now what?" I think they expected some great reward or revelation at the end of the prophecy, other than the satisfaction of accomplishing each task.

Glad they enjoyed it. MOON 1-1 is the intro for a 3 year, 58 adventure story are that wraps up in February of 2021 at Winter Fantasy. You can already find the next 21 adventures in the series (MOON 2 thru MOON 8) here on the DM's Guild. All will become clear.

My group enjoyed this introduction to the Moonshae isles. Meeting some notable character, making some potential enemies, and learning about the happenings of the area make this a great introduction. My only ask would be to include a proper conclusion. Spoilers ahead There was no conclusion to the prophecy, and as DM I was left to puzzle out how to conclude, and offer explainations for why the characters needed to do what they did.

I have run all of these 4 mini-adventures now, some twice, and my players and I really enjoyed them. A good mixture of roleplay, combat and exploration, many different aspects of the setting come up, and there is a great mixture of serious and comic elements (have you met the bard and the smith in Blodvahrer?) Excellent writing and much help provided for new DMs. This is a great starting adventure, both for (new) players and for new DMs.

CCC-BMG-MOON 1-1 Moonshae Treasure Hunt 5/5 Stars

I love intro adventures with the mini missions. Flat out – I enjoy playing them and I enjoy DMing them. The gang at Baldman Games did a great job putting this together, and my table enjoyed the feel of the Moonshaes. Pros: Interesting missions that pull the characters into the storyline, an opportunity to learn about the various power groups (not really factions, but yeah…factions), and a nice setup with some NPCs. Cons: The only con I have is that some of the encounters can TPK a level 1 table without some help. Even running at very weak, I had to add some NPC actions (which are allowed per the module), to keep folks alive.

One of my players had played Moonshaes adventures back in v3.5, and enjoyed getting back into the setting.

I look forward to playing and DMing more Moonshaes adventures.

I have done a playtest of the first adventure, but I havent brought it to the full table yet. However, I definitely like where the adventure is going and this looks like a very good time indeed. I especially like the formatting - I had to do very little flipping back and forth to find what I needed.

I have an AL related question though. . . The adventure rewards 1 advancement checkpoint and 1 treasure checkpoint for each part of the adventure, but also rewards 5 downtime days. Is one of those incorrect (as 2 ACP correlate with 5 days for AL)?

Any advice here?

Packing up for a show but this adventure came out prior to Season 8. So it was written under Season 7 rules so there might be a glitch or two in it but the D&D AL Rules and Guidelines should have the proper parts. Thanks

:CLAP, CLAP, CLAP: What an refreshing compilation of adventures! I don't want to get too long-winded here but I will say that having the Moonshaes Regional Guide read helped me enjoy the adventures here a bit more. I really enjoyed the Story Awards and how they were just that-story aides for the players and DM. In a somewhat newer campaign location that will be important because players and DMs are still digesting the campaign locatino and may not have alot of nowledge of the Moonshaes. I liked how there were some consoldiated mechanics that will help cut through some of the more monotonous checks (examples, 'Find the Pearl' in "The Axe Aflame", and 'Running the Checks' of "Thar Be Pirates". I liked that is "A Weighty Manner" there was a little cultural blurb about village names that just gives DMs a Snippet of content similar to that gfound in the Regional Guide. I also enjoyed that in "Thar Be Pirates" that there were DM recommendations to make major plot points more digestible by givng players ownership in how they happen. I'm not much of an optics guy, but I will say that the maps should be appealing to alot of my peers. I am looking forward to running a few of these this weekend at SCROOGECON 2018 in Lincoln! Good Gaming and Well Done to all! DM's looking for one-shot, well-written content, pick this up!
