I purchased this in hardcover with standard color (only option), and I feel like the poor print quality should be mentioned. I got this along side the Mines of Chult softcover in premium color to run in my current ToA campaign and I can immediately tell the difference. The images in my hardcover LCoM book are dark and difficult to discern detail, whereas my softcover Mines of Chult has bright, vivid images. There is also a small typo on page 6 which seems to be trivial to fix if they had a final pass edit. I am sure I will find more typos as my party finishes in the Tomb of the Nine Gods and I start to pass them plot hooks from this adventure series. If they did another edit run and offered the book in premium it would be much more suitable as an expansion to Tomb of Annihilation in print. However as of now it seems to ideally be a PDF only purchase for many unless you are a huge fan of the Chult setting like myself. Personally I do not see this book as a prize on my shelf the same as I do the other 3 DMs Guild books I purchased for POD due to this discrepancy in quality between authors.

This was a fun adventure to run with my players as they had run into Artus Cimber on the way to Omu. My players and I have very much enjoyed playing through the adventure, but our experience was lessened as many things were missing or didn't make sense, such as the Tree Blights from the ruins of the world serpent, which are listed as Giant Vine Blights in the back of the book; the Couatl Chase chart, which didn't appear at all in any appendices; Venom Trolls, which don't appear in the back of the book; the Shadow Demons, later called shadow wraiths in the same section, which doesn't have any kind of claw attack that forces the recipient to make a strength saving throw; and the top floor of the tower of the learned, which isn't accessable if the party doesn't have access to thieves tools. Overall, we have enjoyed the extended campaign and do plan to finish it, and while I wold recommend this product to anyone that had fn playing through tomb of anihilation, I would recommend it even more if it had these aspects fixed.

This is a superb product that does more than flesh out Mezro for a Tomb of Annihilation campaign (although it does that very well). It also includes a complete Tier 2-3 adventure series that takes the characters all over, under, and through Chult on quests tied to the fate of Mezro, with a complex web of new villains, NPCs, and locations. In so doing, it adds something the great but flawed hardcover was lacking: a central narrative focusing on the lore and history of Chult itself. That goes some way in addressing the colonialism/stereotype problems with the hardcover.

I ran into this storyline while trying to find something to continue a campaign post-Dead in Thay. Running the first adventure as a lead-in to the the continent of Chult, continuing with Tomb of Annihilation, and then having that lead into the rest of this campaign felt super natural and really made Chult the heart of so much of our story. (After this book, we moved onto the Adventurer League Broken Chains series, which was great for exploring the Ubtao/Dendar dynamic even more) If you ever read the 90s Forgotten Realms book "The Ring of Winter" and loved that depiction of Chult, this book is definitely one to look into.

On top of the writing quality, the physical copy of the book looks great! It has a place of honor on my bookshelf.

I was disappointed with how little Mezro was detailed in Tomb of Annihilation so my first intent when I purchased Lost City of Mezro was to have more material about the city. I finally received my hard copy a couple of days ago and I can only stress out how much this product is amazing both on its own, with three great adventures, and as a supplement to ToA. Mezro itself finally gets a decent amount of love and the adventure trilogy is very well written. Good job.
