So the character that in my campaign of Waterdeep that was going to be the contact for a Zhent plot died tragically and a new one made more sense to intro the Gray Hands...I've picked up all of this author's titles for Waterdeep and this one is exceptional. We just went through the level 2 quest start to finish and it was great! This kind of stuff is really making Waterdeep an even more fully fleshed out world.

Me and my party really enjoyed the life this supplement brings to the Grey Hands faction, and the depth it lends to Chapter 2. My party really feels like minions of the Blackstaff by Chapter 4, and had some memorable moments during the trek up the mountain and the exploration with the dragon.

I love this so much. My party has gotten really excited about joining Force Grey and it's a fun faction, but the missions do need to be fleshed out. This does a fantastic job of that, especially for the quest with Meloon. The book states that he acts completely normally, so how are the PCs supposed to tell anything is wrong? There's a great solution to that here.

The only thing I disagree with is the Gray Hand Token, which has an extremely powerful ability. I think I'd only give the players this on the final quest, which is likely to be deadly.

Fantastic supplement, by and large, but I found that the first questline had some really unbalanced moments (taking up to 4d10 damage climbing the mountain - reliant on skill checks to avoid that are likely to be taken at disadvantage due to exhaustion - at level 2 is essentially lethal).

Hi Benjamin Thanks for the review. I can certainly see your point, although I feel like you have to be very unlucky to suffer the full 4d10 and take enough damage for it to be instantly lethal. In our tests, a character took the full damage once, and was knocked unconscious, but not instantly killed (and the players had fun digging him out before he bled out). That being said, I don't think there's anything wrong with reducing the damage to 4d6 or 3d10 damage to make it less lethal – especially if your characters are on the fragile side. I'll consider making the change when we do our first overhaul of the document. Thanks for the constructive feedback, and I'm glad you otherwise enjoyed the supplement :)

A must have resource if your Waterdeep party joins the Grey Hands!

Excellent background on the organization, the NPCs, and the tower. Missions that are actual missions, not just a kernel of an idea like the table in the book. And that sweet magic item... I'm tempted to become a Blackstaff lackey just to get my hands on one!
