High quality through and through, the horror is great and perfectly in theme for a halloween adventure. Although it works great as a oneshot, because of how heavily it involves the characters and their history, I will recommend running this as either a part of a campaign or with long established characters. Without spoiling too much, there are things here that can permanently change characters. I appreciate the way it goes about doing this, giving player's agency to dictate how this happens. The way the Big bad is setup from start to finish makes for a really satisfying finish, one that im sure players will remember for a long term. If I was to criticise anything, it would probably be the length. If you have players that lean into the roleplay, which this definitely caters to moreso, than you can expect this adventure to take about 5-6 hours.

I found this to be a fantastic follow up to Happy Jack's Funhouse (which you absolutely have to run if you haven't already!). The author somehow manages to perfectly capture the vibe of an 80s / early 90s B horror movie in all the right ways. There are also opportunities to easily make both of these adventures part of, or the beginning of, a Ravenloft campaign. Not to be missed!

My group and I loved this! Super well written - I usually struggle to get everything right in my head but this was a breeze for me to DM. One of my players was a bard, and upon hearing about Tasha asked if they could be the jester's bitter ex - 10/10 experience. The emotional connection was so good.

Wow. Just...Wow. My group enjoyed this, and engaged in the story so much, to the point the "one shot" aspect and the 3-5 hour playtime estimate got blown totally out of the water. We ended up in the 16-20 hour range over several weekly sessions. They experienced fear, concern over NPCs, absolute terror, and delight in the unknown ahead. I have never seen, in four years of playing together, such an emotional reaction from my players.

As others have said, prepping ahead for the mirror room is critical. I interviewed each player individually and asked general questions about their past and the major choice events in their lives. Only one player ended up in that area, but just the story around what happened to him, and why, had the whole group enthralled.

I gave my players the option, before they knew a thing about the adventure, if they wanted this to be a stand-alone one-shot, or work it into the longer campaign we have been running with permanent rewards and consequences. After much debate, they unanimously chose to make it permanent. I think this really helped with the sense of suspense and fear for the character safety. These were not throw-away characters and what happened to them could significantly change the direction of the larger campaign. While I'm a tiny bit disappointed they all came away without permanent metal issues, the rewards they reaped will add to the flavor, commitment, and story of their individual characters.

Great job developing this! And thanks for the hours of fun!

I've yet to run this adventure and I'll probably come back and edit this review to let people know how my party liked it, but I love the premise! It would've been nice to have colored maps available instead of having to google search them, and also there's a good number of typos and errors within the pdf itself. For instance, it doesn't give an AC for The Machine in room 9. It's just simple things and typos like that that were a little bothersome. Great writing however!

So, the 3/5 on this one is almost solely on the price. The PDF was so high it was honestly more cost effective to order the print version, which was a very fair price. However if you are going to push me towards the print version, at least give me the PDF for free.

My group absolutely loved this adventure from start to finish! I can not say enough good things, anyone debating it definitely go for it you will not regret it! It was also pretty easy to run as the module itself is really well writen and takes any unwanted guess work out even for newer DM's!

I ran this as a first-time DM and OH BOY, this was fun. A more experienced DM than I could really spice up the horror elements and dialogue but everybody had a great time regardless. I especially loved the insanity tables and the mechanism for replacing a player's memories. It led to some really fun roleplaying and unique endings we wouldn't have gotten otherwise. 10/10, absolutely recommend.

I ran this with my party as a Halloween insert for our Waterdeep campaign. We got about 10 hours or so of gameplay out of it. The module is really well put together and easy to use, with many opportunities for great roleplay, combat, and exploring elements of the characters' backstories. The maps were well done and easy to use, although they could have been more colourful for virtual tabletop play. My party all rated this as one of their favourite adventures.

Here is a little preface to my review that I hope helps with validating my praise for this module. I'm relatively new to the world of DnD having only been a player for a little over a year and half with on and off play in one or two home campaigns. Most of my group of friends who played with me all seemed to catch the DM bug at the same time but we didn't want to cannibalize all our time with long DnD campaigns that each person individually ran, so we decided to round table DMing one shots for practice. I was hesitant to volunteer because, well, being a DM is intimidating. However, they finally convinced me other wise and thus I decided I wanted to run a horror one shot and terrify my players. Running this module was my first expierence ever with DMing and it went so smoothly and it was such a SCARY game. I legitly terrified most of my players with the creepy NPC cut outs and the spooky maps design. I added planned sound effects and a noise generator and I ran it in a candle lit room and even I got scared at points. I thought this module was super easy to run, easy to understand, was scaled super well and is really intense. I loved it, my players loved it, its super reader friendly, 10/10 would recommend.

Overall, this adventure is pretty well designed. The dark theme was wonderful for a halloween one shot. My group generally had a good time; the encounters were all fun and unique, and each room of the dungeon adds to the story in a meaningful way if the players poke around a bit. However, there is one encounter near the end that I don't appriciate the design of. Normally, it woundn't be a deadly encounter whatsoever. Its purpose is to guide the players up the platform in the middle of the room to the bossfight. There is one complication though: if the players put out the candle the NPC is holding, the floor comes to life and "bludgeons them into unconcioussness." No saving throw. No reactions. It's a very "rocks fall, everyone dies" moment. The module does provide some variants, in case you don't like the encounter, or want some more combat in your adventure, but it does not make it very clear that these options are available, nor how to implement them. If you're planning to run it as written, then beware.

I ran this twice. Once at 3rd level and once at 10th level and my players seemed to love it. It was a lot of fun for me also. I did have to give a warning about the adventure being disturbing to my players so they knew what they were getting into.

I purchased Tasha's Kiss about 6 months ago and was, since then, bidding my time to run it for my players. I changed the premise to fit my campaign and run the dungeon with very few changes. What I loved the most was how it enabled me to play on every character's backstory and fears, through the Mirror Room, the Chimaera and all the madness rolls. Whenever a player would fail a madness saving throw I would give a short description of a hallucination they were having, replaying bits of their backstory that they fear or are guilty about. This is a truly well written and combat-balanced adventure and I can't recommend it enough. I believe that due to the many things one needs to track the adventure would be best run by a relatively experienced DM but in any case no-one should miss this! Thanks a lot, looking forward to even more of your content!
