This is a good read, a great NPC, and a nice collection of plot hooks, but as a DM I found this most interesting for what it taught me about genre translation! Too often when someone is inspired by a beloved character, and wish to see it in D&D, they either miss the mark entirely, or slavishly copy an idea that no longer makes sense in a D&D setting. This is a smart story with a bit of an easter egg for the observant player.
