I just ran this adventure last night. Both during prep and running it I was impressed. I'll be looking for more adventures by this author! Here are some of the specifics I really liked:
-NPCs have lots of info about motivations, personality, and tactics during combat. This is VERY helpful to me, especially the tactics section, as I'm bad with that.
-While there was lots of (helpful!) detail about the backstory, the motivations of the NPCs, etc., it is not rooted in a particular world or lore; very easy to drop into any campaign in any place.
-Even with all the detail provided, there are repeated and well worded reminders that the DM should make the adventure their own (including a variety of "hook" suggestions that are not necessarily dependent on all the backstory)
-Opportunities for skill checks and other "exploration" possibilities (although my party did not do much with this)
-All monster stat blocks are included. (not a huge deal for me sine I use DDB, but still nice)
-An interestingly reskinned "monster"
-Combat has a purpose, and "kill everything" isn't a necessary or even the best option.
-A helpful and well organized "after the adventure" section that details ways to "wrap up" the loose ends, set potentential follow-up hooks, etc.
-It does the best job of any adventure I've purchased here of identifying things PCs might do/try and suggesting approaches to them.
