Thoroughly enjoyed running this one-shot, which turned into 4 sessions because we got so much out of the story! Haunting and gripping story with lots of room to improvise and make it your own. The setting and story hook really sparked my imagination and encouraged me to run this for my friends. They really enjoyed it and became very invested in the village and people. The fact that it takes place over a number of days is really interesting as well. Lots of opportunities for creativity for the DM and the players! Highly recommend it.

Excellent and charming adventure, especially as it avaliable for free.

The tone, characters and setting are great.

There are a few editing errors: -The CR of Mr Grin is quoted as 5 in the text and 7 in the statblock. -The text is inconsistent on whether the statues are stone or coal. Though these can be forgiven in a free product.

As other reviews have said, the adventure is very open ended with no set series of events which means you need to be quite thorough in your preparation. Those may mean more work it does make the adventure very enjoyable and interesting for both the players and the DM.

As advertised this adventure is very much not combat focused and I would not reccommend fixing by including the random encounters the adventure provides. I would personally reccommend picking one and try to make it more significant to your players.

I also increased the combat by planning for the potential revenge plot to end with a battle with a demon representing small minded racism.

Overall an amazing and interesting adventure but one which may require lots of preparation and tailoring.

I ran this for a group of seven players, four of which had never played, for newyears. It was great! I changed the ending, having the characters read a spell (the poem, Ring Out, Wild Bells) to bring the kids back at the end (wanted a happy ending for the new players). Other than that I didn't change a thing. Two of my PC's decided to be Tieflings and that made for a fun encounter with Wess and a few of his likeminded mates. Well writen and easy to follow and to add or subtract to suit your needs. Loved it.

A Really great adventure, especially if you want something with a roleplay focus and love the unseelie court or fey creatures in general. Players get your DM to run this DM's why aren't you already running this. Come take a look at my full review here https://youtu.be/EDVv22st6JI

Edit: A small adendum in my review I mention a lack of art work it looks like I somehow got confused with the printer friendly version, however the full version contains great art work for the monsters in question and as such I've updated my score to reflect that, Well done on an amazingly well written and structured adventure.

This is a fine adventure evoking the feeling of Grimm's Faerie Tales. Dark pacts, unseelie fae and a tragic tale of loss are woven together into a three-night horror story perfectly suited for players seeking a darker D&D experience. Well written, edited and organized, Ring Out, Wild Bells is among the best the Guild has to offer! HIGHLY Recommended!

This is a great adventure for a stormy evening. Just get yourself and your players some hot chocolate, close the shutters and prepare for a good old fairy tale! Depending on your taste you can create a heart-wrenching experience or go for a more light-hearted tone. But the adventure certainly has much potential for emotional depth and tragedy. The 'villain' Mr. Grin has a lot of depth to him and I hope you will have the chance to roleplay him! There is some great potential unless the party attacks on first sight. So you might want to give some leeway if the characters are too battle hungry or set everything up so the party has no chance to attack during the first encounter.

Before you can start you will have to lay out a rough plan on how to structure the adventure, however. There is no step by step walkthrough, which means you will have to study the adventure very closely beforehand to gauge how the 'villain' might react in the given situation.

The design and the artwork are quite pleasing which makes it a joy to read. I advise listening to the Skyrim OST while preparing/playing. It sets the tone perfectly! The map pack which is included offers various iterations of the included map (with a grid, w/o grid, black and white) which is nice!

As of yet, I have not DMed the adventure, but I will update my review once I had a chance to test everything in depth.
