This book is in dire need of a disclaimer. After running my group through a crazy throwdown, hair-pullin', goat-scarin', halfing with brass knuckles, wild magic filled brawl, I'm afraid to let my PCs into another tavern because I worry they will want to start another bar fight! Even our most reserved, quiet, "I'm just here to kill stuff" barbarian was absolutely giddy after the 90 minute battle-royale!

It is a great system with lots of room to add your own twists and gimmicks. The rules are very clear and easy to follow. The author could have charged double, and I'd still feel it was worth it! Great job!

The PCs (fifth graders and second graders in two different adventures) truly enjoyed me yelling at them "You can't shoot someone with a bow and arrow in a bar fight! HAVEN'T YOU EVER BEEN IN A BAR FIGHT?!?"

Smooth runs, easy gameplay, nice change of pace after eight months (!) of saving the world. Now the fifth grade group is playing Goatball this week.

Simply reading this, I could tell it works smoothly. In practice, the PCs had an absolute blast, even though I knocked out three of them in the first round. Being able to add a little extra flavor during the brawl adds a great deal to the experience. I had to remove all of the specific tavern details, though, since they were in a pre-built tavern in a tiny town I developed and none of them really fit the flavor of the world they are in. That's easy enough to ignore, but it may be worth picking and choosing details from the various taverns (as well as making up some new details) to make it fit. Seriously great product; my only concern now is that the PCs may start a fight in every tavern they enter.

I've been struggling with writing an interesting brawl for an adventure and this has provided a very elegant solution to my problem. If you want to make something interesting and storyful rather than a standard table leg to the head affair I recommend this wholeheartedly!

Frankly, this is a work of genius. The idea of turning a barroom brawl into a monster in its own right is brilliant, and the system for running encounters against it is inspired. I'm going to be running a lot more games in taverns from now on, so that I have an excuse to use this as often as possible. It also comes with a collection of new taverns, so you can get to using it right away.
