To do this review justice, as I would want to do to all things that I put my name to, I want to preface some of MY qualities first. Playing since 1982, DMing shortly thereafter. Have been around computers since TRS-80 (no relation to WotC). Avid 'collector of things', preferably useful and unique.

So, to begin there are 2 different version of the Dungeon Room Descriptions - The Fantasy Grounds (FG) .mod and the PDF / XLSX version.
The .mod file holds no other files, or a ‘read me’ file, so you should know where to place the file. For new users to FG this may require a search online and dependent upon how you configured your setup in FG. There are no other required files, making this easily a copy and paste into the Modules folder (or other appropriate area), and activate in the Library.

The layout and setup once you open the “Story” template and “Generate” make for a lightning fast write up, easy configured to post it to the Story File and share with players, or directly into the Chat feature. The descriptions are at times humorous, dark, delightful, inspiring and verbose, such that once generated can make for a wall of text, making for some difficulty reading. The flavor and mood are easily adjusted by altering what is provided, but there are so many unique ideas, it may be dangerous for the ADHD DM or player who takes too literally what they ‘see’ and may slow down some dungeon crawls, or it may just give the players some additionally longevity, as safety is not something traditionally built into dark areas where creatures lurk.

After 3 sessions, with using the Dungeon Room Descriptions, I will not run FG without it!

It is a quick window to have open and ready to pull from, even if the room is already planned and detailed, one can pull quickly from the other areas as players request details you did not have ready (not that players ever do that!), from walls, floors, floor coverings, notables, ceilings, doors, door handles, and more!!

Although there are some minor typos and grammar issues, it is not a detractor from the overall scope and magnitude of the work.

There is an opportunity to expand on the 44 trillion options that currently exist, I mean not that 44 trillion combinations is going to be used quickly in many campaign worlds. This however, will allow the creative writer to customize the templates for their campaign or genre, making this truly a tool not just for medieval or fantasy campaigns, but any campaign platform used in Fantasy Grounds.

The cost of this tool and the depth to it; the amount of customization; the sheer inspirational qualities alone make this a .mod a steal at ten times the value! I am suitably impressed with both the ease of use, the flow, format, and layout, I have little to criticize. A job well done and thought out and it is evident in the final product. I look forward to more quality work from this author in the future. DM Veitch. 2018 Feb 03

Hey, thanks for the very detailed review. I hope others find it as useful as I have. I'll be putting together a "How to Install" file to upload as well so that those new to FG can install this easily without having to look for any other resources. I also appreciate the detailed grammar issues you have identified for me. I'll be going through and correcting those, everyone should look for an update soon.

This is an absolutely fantastic addition to my repertoire as a DM for any dungeon I am creating in advance or any dungeon I am trying to add flavour to. With the 44 trillion different combinations I don't think it's ever going to get stale for my players. It works fantastically for giving inspiration if you draw your own maps for players and the descriptions are varied and fantastic. It is 100% worth the money and is a MUST for DM's who homebrew often.

I have been an active member of Fantasy Grounds, playing D&D online since 2011.

There are a number of useful DM tools which make the job of running a campaign much easier and I have found Dungeon Room Descriptions (DRD) to be of a great help to me in mine.

Perhaps like other Dungeon Masters I am quite a busy person and DRD really takes a load off the description part of the dungeon adventure. No hunting for random tables, just drop the mod in the FG folder, set everything up, push the generate button and BINGO you have everything you need to put an environment or barrier in front of the party. Need another one in a pinch ? Hit the generate button and bang! you are set.

Its especially useful for the players who love the traps/lock aspect of role playing. They immediately are presented with an in depth dialogue box which can be shared with the party via the in game chat window. Includes materials used, what players can see as well as objects of interest. It really makes the GMs job MUCH easier and I highly recommend the GM needing help with the details of dungeon delving to pick up this great tool.

This is a fantastic tool for online gaming and a feature any serious DM should consider adding to their library.

The one addition I would make would be a generator that rolls on all 10 tables and puts them together.

Each table has a range on it that there is nothing special, to ensure that not every room of a dungeon is spectacular in some way, so the good stuff isn't missed in flavor descriptions.

The detail in the descriptions are good, enough so the PCs will pick up on things and be encouraged to investigate things, which may just be what you need to give them the scrap of paper they were SUPPOSED to get when they were at the desk, but didn't bother to look at anything on it. Here's something to make them look at something, and as they look at say the old cloak in the corner of the room, there is a piece of scrap paper there.

I enjoy it and will be including it in my games personally.

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it :) The way FG rolls tables, even though I could put in one table to roll on all the others, their is no way to control the order in which the results are displayed. So, rather than create the master table, their is a Story Template that does exactly what you want. (Actually 3 Story Templates, if you just want door, or rooms without door, or the whole thing.) Use the story templates to get the whole description. You can also use the Story Templates as samples to create your own and even include things that you might consider part of a standard template for your rooms with things like sections for things like Map, Encounter, Parcel, etc details and links. for more examples, see; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?41576-44-Trillion-Dungeon-Room-Descriptions&p=369388&viewfull=1#post369388 Thanks again and enjoy!
