This is a great open ended system that you can make as complex as you want! I have been using it to run adventures. Any flavor of sci-fi can be used but beward at the lower levels, unless you choose the "heroic characters" option, you are in the default "gritty" setting where you can die early.

I got this after watching Adam Koebel on RollPlay. I am running a game on Roll20 and love it!

I've already printed this out and will give to my players and a fellow DM friend of mine. Bonus Action can be one of the most problematic of 5e rules. While 5e is not a Pathfinder level of complexity the very simplicity can allow for multiple interpretations.

This flowchart will not only put everyone at the table on the same page but act as a reminder for acting in a deliberate manner when combat occurs!

Bulette Storm - FREE Adventure
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

Date Added: 05/14/2018 11:12:27

I don't normally review DM's Guild Material unless I can really recommend it and with Bulette Storm I really do!

The adventure contains great NPC's and solid story hooks. If any of them outlive your adventure they could be an excellent part of any longterm campaign. The veteran Brady and the old adventurer Gwent could be allies or an impetus for later adventures. The farmer and his wife come across like real folk.

Chris Bissette has created a great adventure and some great maps.

The interior art is also well done and even contains some from illustrator & map maker Deven Rue.

You won't regret getting this!

Fujibayashi's Manual of Merging Rivers

This product is a labor of love and its introduction is as heartwarming as the character classes inside are heart rendering! There are books referenced that open the door for the reader who wants to know more about what we commonly call the Ninja. It's noteworthy that DM Guild Adept Satine Phoenix was an influence on the writer and it shows through the professionalism and great story hooks in the product.

The reader of this work gets two classes for the price of one and both are deadly.

The first is a reworking of the "Way of the Shadow" Monk subclass. It gives just enough Japanese history, plus references, to be informing without being didactic. It also explains the motivations someone who views themselves as honorable would have to take up disguise and assassination to wage war.

The second class is a reworking of the bard class into a historically inspired female spy. It has some great story arcs built into the description plus some stealth abilities that are powerful without braking the game balance.

If you are a someone who wants a truly Japanese inspired character, or a DM who wants a Japanese element in their campaign then you should buy this right away!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad to see that it has resonated well. I hope to produce much more Far-Eastern and Middle-Eastern content for the DMs Guild like this one.

I am so impressed by this! Some of the best DM's have put together the beginning bare bones of any adventure you could desire in Port Nyanzaru. Satine Phoenix sets up the perfect Bardic adventure which references her and Ruty Rutenberg's Fury's Reach live stream. Rutenberg's way to deal with what happens to character's who run afoul of the law is very useful and can be used in other settings. Some others of note are Will Doyle's great seaborne mystery and Lisa Chen's funny "Spa Day".

Really worth the purchase!

If you are a DM that does homebrew campaigns or a player who loves Homebrew Campaigns and is looking for a Gift for your DM than don't finish reading this review, just buy The Comprehensive Equipment Manual. This is more than just an expanded armory with neat weapons cool tools. It delves into currency and campaign altering ideas like Letters of Marque or constructing a Keep! Firearms, Polearms and non-European weapons are given a great overview.

There are also random tables on items of treasure with great plot and character hoods that satisfies any Old School Renaissance (OSR) yearnings or the newer Streamer Feeler Gamer (SFG). So if you are still reading this review thanks for doing so and go buy this!

This is worth way more than the paltry amount you pay for it! You can create a character with a familiar that is tied to nature spirits in Chult and beyond that jungle land that time forgot.

Rich Lescouflair and Ruty Rutenberg deserve praise for a well balanced and well flavored druid that comes with ideas for adventures, so it works for DMs and players.

Buy this and you will not only love it, you will use it!

Ruins of Hisari

This adventure will challenge any group of characters and may even alter the way they play them so be ready!

The module reads as equal parts Chuck Palahniuk, Cthulu and old school dungeon crawl with a new jungle based twist. Lysa Chen knocks this one right out of the park! The flavor of the old sword and sorcery is there, with serpent people, side quests (but not too many) deceptions.

It reminded me a bit of the pulp magazine writer C.L Moore and the ancient temples and religions that her heroes would explore.

Ruty Rutenberg makes a contribution with a detailed skill check appendix.

THe illustrations by Sam Burley and Jessica Thomas are great.

I'm really glad they sent a shout out to the playtesters and a comic book store! (WildPig Comics) Its these things that get us to write adventures and modules.

Bad Myrmidon
Publisher: Neoplastic Press
by CD F. [Verified Purchaser]

Here is an excerpt from the module.

"Amacles wants to save his wife, but he also emulates his idol, Achilles: avoiding death at all costs, doing whatever must be done in order to remain alive. He has no use for honor, glory, or righteousness, preferring instead to turn on any ally in the blink of an eye, or to abandon those he loves if it means avoiding risk."

This gives a good flavor of how it uses myth but is not enslaved to it. This is no C.S. Lewis or Tolkien type fantasy, this has more of a George R. R. Martin or Lamentations of the Flame Princess.

The Secrets of Skyhorn Lighthouse
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

I enjoyed this adventure because it creates a new monster and describes the NPCs in a very economical fashion. An iconic lighthouse makes for a great backdrop in which to have a seabourne adventure. Not set in any particular world it can be placed in any. The writer gives options to the DM so while there is a definite narrative there are still a few different outcomes.

The module's art is varied and well placed.

This inspired me with an adventure I'm working on for DMs Guild!

This module is beautifully laid out and has a good story for your players to follow. While set in the Forgotten Realms it leaves room for any DM to adjust to their particular homebrew campaign. There are a good amount of skill checks and enough combat for even the most battle hungry party.

Complete Adventures of M.T. Black Vol. I
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild
by CD F. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 11/30/2016 12:57:25

These modules are an impressive mix of variations on classic adventures and some novel concepts that can still fit in any campaign. I enjoyed "The Lurker Beneath Red Larch" for its details but found "The Dawn Chasers" even better. "The Wizard in a Bottle" is an unusual idea for an adventure but allows for some interesting roleplaying options.

I like how one of the adventures is inspired from the old "World of Greyhawk" adventure, "Expedition to the Barrier Peaks".

These are worth far more than the low price.

The only think that could be added are sample PC's for the players to use, but these are designed for the players to enjoy with their own characters. It also lets a Dungeon Master add these to their campaign.
