This is an excellent resource if you're trying to bring an Oriental flavor to your table. It is especially fun to see the look on your players' face when "Oh, wait, that NPC said [common name], but they neglected to mention it being from [insert numerous Far Eastern locales]."

Monsters of the Orient IS filled with amazing monsters that fit the settings of fantasy Japan, China, and other countries of the east. I WANTED to purchase a physical edition of the book but it has been pulled down. PLEASE bring this amazing book back!

Like its sister book, Heroes of the Orient, Monsters of the Orient is a terrific addition to any DM's library. Whether you're going all-in on an Asian inspired game or you're just looking for some fun new enemies to introduce to your players, this is a must-have.

Amazing and comprehensive, i only wish it got into the taint mechanic as I dont intend to run a campaign set exclusively in the associated world.

The monsters here really inspired some great worldbuilding and adventure ideas. Definately refreshing to sample fantasy that isnt of western flavor. The art style and quality is inconsistent on a few pages, but the high CR monsters have amazing art.

I purchased both the pdf and the printed copy of Monsters of the Orient. The book is layed out well with clear information, useful monsters--whether your campaign is set in the orient or not, a nice selection of beasts and NPCs, and gorgeously detailed artwork. This is true for both versions, although the ink runs a little dark on the printed copy, so some of the details are lost. (The "Oriental Sea Life" image is my favorite, but the top half of the page loses much of the depth shown in the pdf.) Nevertheless, the book is beautiful all the way through and the monsters will definitely show up at my table.

I hesistated to purchase this because of the price, but the layout, content and excellent art made this purchase worth the price. This is one of the best products I've purchased on the DMs Guild.

Artwork is phenomenal and about 85% to 90% orginal, which to me is the key reason why this book is worth it. Many of the monsters have orginal abilites, unique niches and meld well together to create a functioning monster ecology. However, some of this of the monsters have no artwork at all, and typically these monsters had very small descriptions. This makes then difficult to use due to the unique setting of this book. There is also too much emphasis on extremely powerful unique monsters, while some of the smaller more common monsters have very short entries.

Fan-friggin-tastic! This is excellent stuff. With this and Heroes of the Orient, I can truly update my campaign to 5e. I've even decided to use the Shadowlands elements (something I otherwise avoided in 3e). My game is set in Kara-Tur of the Forgotten Realms, and I can use the otherwise ridiculous Spellplague and 100-year time jump to incorporate the Shadowlands (though not as-is, still need to tweak it to fit the various nations).

Another excellent work from this author. I hope he is successful in getting this and Heroes of the Orient some print-on-demand presence. I'd love to have printed copies of both of those works.

Well done, Marc!

I am a bit biased, because I helped with the playtesting, but I still love this book and the concepts. Beutiful artwork accennts a strong set of creatures that all accent the focus of story driven adventure that Oriental Adventures has always been. Marc did an amazing job!
