I'm so glad that I have this because one of my players is a big Monster Hunter fan so he wants to try and craft things out of everything he kills. This makes it so much easier.

C. Stapleford's Item Crafting Rules for 5e is an in-depth dive into the use of various sets of tools or kits that come with one's background, as well as detailed mechanics for the cost, time, & ability of player characters to construct various items (both magical and non-magical). In my opinion, this supplement uses lots of math and several long examples where a simplified table or text box would convey the same information.

Overall, if you want more crunch to go with your crafting, this is the supplement for you! If you are looking for a simpler set of rules for crafting, I would recommend using Xanathar's Guide to Everything or creating your own simple rules instead.

First let me say that this book is very well written but not for every one. This book is great if you want to get into the nitty gritty of crafting but if your just looking for a general base line this is not the book. I personally find that this method can get a bit to complicated if all your player wants to do is craft something out of their dungeon spoils. I personally haven't used the system as my players don't get deep into this kind of crafting, and when they do they aren't trying to sell anything but rather just learn a new skill so they don't have to shell out to repair something.

Why should a thin and sickly Elf take the same ammount of time as a battle-hardened Goliath to forge a breastplate? No more! A must for any DM whose players are interested in crafting.
