I loved this. I even laminated it and I used it at newbie tables. It reminds people what they can do and not do.

I loved this adventure. The hooks, the storyline carrying and the impending doom of the giants building. The only thing I am finding lacking on this one, was the combat encounters. The combat encounters even with exhaustion were not that difficult for my party, I even bumped it 1 notch above the recommended APL and they seemed too easy.

Just ran this two weeks ago. My players are those that dont like to hack and slash through every encounter. They came up with some innovative solutions, but settled on one of the solutions that was in the book, but put that together themselves. Even used a few of their backgrounds to establish how to get around some of the other issues and how their characters would use it. I like alot of the 5th season modules because of they present some good options and allow non-killing with the new S8 rules. They have fun doing so, and even more so, telling of their adventures later. It's great to hear veteran players who enjoy the challenges over the combat challenges.

I really liked even prepping for this. This is a great way to end the parnast series. My players really by the end of the series felt for the people and were really interested in coming up with solutions. They really worked together and actually split up alot of duties based on their strengths. I really had to limit time and gave them 2.5 hours to prep and about 2 hours for the second part. This really crunched the players to work fast. They were actually panicking a little about getting it done. This created the urgency to prep, collect their allies, prep the town and come together. The fights, as everyone said, are no joking matter. They are tough. I took what someone said and since my players were almost apathetic about letting Chandra leave and die, and they went to extra effort to get her back, I gave them some healing services from her. The last two waves are rough on the players if they are range low, but since my players convinced Thornacious to help, it made it a little easier. (7 players and 4 of them have high charisma, they were able to easily sway allies, and townsfolk).

Summary: Great Adventure, great finish but be prepared and know your players. No laughing joke for levels 3-4.

I really enjoyed DMing this adventure. It has a lot of branching out on it, creating alot of replayability. It made my players feel in control of the adventure even though it was an AL module. This adventure is even better with Season 8. I made the fights less challenging than it said by one level but this allowed more Roleplaying in this. My players enjoyed it. One even came up to me afterwards, (a more adventured player), and told me how much he liked the more roleplay aspect of the module.

Some Spoilers:
Since I was running the Parnast Series, I was trying to build the city up to play the others in the series (Bad Business in Parnast, Giant Diplomacy, and Parnast under Siege). Let them explore the town, let them talk to whoever however (we spent about 20 min roleplaying and figuring out about the town). I made Sylas a little more important in the module and put emphasis on him, and create the tie a little better with Weathercote. It also allowed my players to purchase the Wake Up Sauce. Which they all put their money together (since season 8 has less gold and they were level 1) and bought it and the blue potion. They figured out the potion through subtle hints. They saved the sauce for the future.

5/5 Would really recommend this for any type of players. Small town, descriptions of all the main people and buildings. Allows for RP, Skill checks, and fights. Allows for variety of types of players since it has many branching paths.

Really well done and good summaries. Being able to shift stuff around and create and edit is AWESOME. I will be giving extra money on this because it was just what I was looking for. I have rearranged mine but having something to work from was a huge help.

Hi Chris! Thanks so much for the lovely review. It's great to hear that people are getting use out of the word doc versions of the sheet and making it their own. If you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to see what you've done with your version of the screen! You can message me on twitter @ frustratedrocka.

DM'd this last night with 7 newish players. They enjoyed interacting with the Vuerthyl people and actually roleplayed a little bit. Being new players the sandstorm caught them by surprise and I allowed some rolls for knowledge based on their proficiencies. 2 people came up with innovative solutions themselves. I like the ability to change the outcome of the Hobogoblin encounter and still get items and xp based on it. As some of the other reviews, they honestly thought a giant was going to come through the wall and "held back his spells just in case." With opportunities to long rest, this made it a little simpler for them but had a mixed party of 1s and 3s. Overall rated 5/5 for newer players and more experienced players. As a DM I would recommend more Roleplaying at the Camp to get an idea of the threats in the region.
