Kobold Press has continued to improve the quality of their products. Gem Dragons is proof that they can produce exceptional content. It's well laid out (I'm on the fence about putting the dragons of each type oldest to youngest - but it's really not that important). The art is beautiful. I LOVE the look of the Amathest Dragon!

But what really shines? There are side bars throughout that highlight a specific dragon of each type. These are written ins uch a way that DMs are offerred a great potential plot hook. This is a rich resource, and a gem of a product! ;)

Great stuff from the Kobolds (which, no surprise there) and a much-needed addition to the Faerunian draconic ecology for 5e. You don't need to scratch Realmslore very deep to know the gem dragons are important to the history of the Forgotten Realms, and this supplement lays them out for you - including the background and statblock for Sartior the Ruby Dragon, a key figure in the draconic pantheon of Faerun. In addition to the great content, it's a nicely laid-out and formatted product that meshes well with the fifth-edition look and feel. My only quibble is that a printer-firendly version would be nice to have, but that's a small thing. This is a fine example of the best of what the DMs Guild can produce, and at $3.99 for a product from a recognized industry publisher, you can't beat it.

Awesome inspiration for new encounters, adventures, and plothooks—now I want to run an adventure (or three) that involves some of the ancient gem dragons. Full of clever detail and engaging prose. I particularly enjoy how each type of dragon has a unique breath weapon, which offers some great options for surprising and challenging encounters.

Who doesn't want more dragons?!? This is an excellent supplement good for any setting that will up your game. Cool abilities, great story, stat blocks for every age category, and tons of awesome extras make this product a win. Great layout and art too. 6/5 star!
