An evocative and fun subclass for the Blood Hunter. Ran a campaign up to level 13 for a Lycan Blood hunter. The character always came across as extremely powerful, very dynamic and active compared to some of the other party members, but I don't feel that it's unbalanced. It shouldn't present too much of a challenge for a DM of average skill level and it gives lots of exciting options in combat, exploration and roleplay for players. Recommended.

Used this order in our latest 5e campaign and wreaked HAVOC! It was spectacular! Resistance kept absorbing much of the damage I took, but I was raging so kept failing that Wisdom check - tore through half the city's guards before I came out of rage. Really awesome addition to the Blood Hunter class, highly recommend.

This product is brief and well-designed. I feel like it fills a very small niche but fills it perfectly.

This is the second part of the new Character Class, Blood Hunter, by Master DM Matthew Mercer.

I've played lycans before but fully turned werewolves, nothing like this Order of the Lycan. The unique characteristics of this class made it a fun game to play. Watching Critical Role also helped see how to better play this class.

As I noted in my review for the base Blood Hunter class, this is a very welcome addition to any game that I DM or play in. It adds a lot to the lore of the world as well as interesting design options for players as well as making NPCs. The look on my players' faces the first time they encountered a Lycan Blood Hunter sealed the deal for me with this archetype.

Though I have not had much time to really delve into the class, I have enjoyed what I have played of it.

I love everything about this class and Order. The flavor, the RP, the abilities. My only problem is that it seems like I'm doing more harm than good in combat while transformed. Due to some poor roles I spent 3 turns wailing on our Paladin instead of the enemy. If the Hybrid form weren't so crucial it wouldn't be a problem, but 3 turns attacking a friend is just too much. At this point I think this Order is too RNG heavy

I LOVE this sub class!

Get to play a lycan? Check

Get a real and truly risky 'Rage' mechanic? Check

Unarmed attacks/claws? Check

Bonuses to scent and hearing? Check

This is ideal if you want to play anything like a wolfman, wolverine, sabretooth or any other beastial character.

This is flavourful, balanced, and GREAT FUN!

Any issues i have are minor and related to the class itself, NOT this subclass.

This is the simplest and best way of getting werewolves in your game.

Pro tip: To play a true fast and feral 'Hunter' type, take:

• the 'mobile' feat and start dashing in and out of cambat like an animal.

• 1 lv of rogue for sneak attack and expertise in athletics and perception/survival for werewolf strength (even on a dex based character) and the ability to track ANYTHING.

Sooooo much fun.

So much goodness, time was well spent and hundreds have playtested this. this is worth it, probably the best DMGuild content.

Very good for that player that has that "I want to play as a werewolf" idea but you are a little afraid of alignment issues and game balance. I allowed my player to use it as a ranger archtype as well.

This is a great addition to the Blood Hunter class. Looking forward to trying it out!

I downloaded this product for the Curse of Strahd campaign. From what I've seen, it a very nice way for a player to have a Lycan character in the party, but still has some risk if used.

The Order of the Lycan is a great archetype for a very solid class. The archetype runs as a mix between a monk, a barbarian, and a ranger. As far as balance goes, I find the class is fairly strong, but not overly so. You're not outpunching the monk, you're not outtanking the barbarian, and you aren't nearly as much of a "switch hitter" as a ranger. Be nice to the cleric: you will be fighting at very low health very often.
