The only real problem with this set (like quite a few scans of old TSR products) is that they are incomplete. For instance, if you try to print out the player's map for a scenario from Visions of War, you will find a rather large strip in the middle where the two sides do not meet. In other words, the two pages that are meant to be joined together are MISSING the image near the original spine of the book. Other than that, it's a great read even if you just want background for your campaign and intend to keep your players from getting embroiled in the Blood War.

Good scan quality. The lay-out of the various supplements is a bit odd. For those curious it goes: DM's Guide, War Games Adventure Book, The Bargain Comic Book, Player's Guide, followed by the Visions of War art supplement. So basically the off limits to players content is at the front of the book. If you can overlook that quirk, excellent product!

This was better than expected. I already have a pdf of this from years ago but this re-printed version is excellent. The color balance and contrast are very good. A bargain at the current pricing. I have several original publications from Planescape but I will definately be rounding out the collection with the reprints.

Excellent print of a scan. The box sets done as a single book are generally well put together, with only slight issues with the scan of some maps looking a little rushed (probably not ideal source material to scan either, being folded for a few decades is less than optimal). Haven't tried printing maps from the supplied PDF's yet, although plan to soon.

This product (originally a box set) can be used for background to the Blood War (a major conflict between the demons and devils of the D&D outer planes) or a giant campaign set amongst that war.

The Blood War is one of the most exciting backdrops for extraplanar campaigns. This box set can be played as one huge adventure. Or the modular encounters can be extracted to fit your own "War is hell" storyline. <br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Excellent<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>

Nice. Very nice. As with all the Planescape books I've downloaded from RPGNow, I bought this solely for the source material. Since I don't use the old 2nd edition rules, I could care less about the adventures that come packaged with it and have yet to even read them. As the title suggests, this box set is all about the fiends and their eternal Blood War. It gives a great rundown of the war's history as well as its tactics. The details about how the war is actually fought makes this set worth the purchase (again, for the price, it would have to be a pretty horrible collection of material for it not to be worthwhile). Not that I'd ever want to throw players into the middle of one of these engagements, but its nice to know what a battle between a rampaging horde of tanar'ri and a disciplined army of baatezu would actually look like. This set is a nice companion to the Faces of Evil:Fiends book as well. And as an added bonus, you get a DiTerlizzi illustrated comic book that was originally packaged with the box set. Nothing of earth shattering importance, but its always great to see a great artist's work displayed so prominently.

YES! Thank the powers for the re-release of the old AD&D books as pdfs. If all you want is the source material for the planescape setting, and are not a collector, avoid paying $75+ on ebay for Hellbound. The pdf version has everything that came in the original box set.
