Greyhawk Expanded: A Player's Guide to Oerik

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Step into the vibrant World of Greyhawk Expanded, a fresh reimagining of one of Dungeons & Dragons’ most iconic settings. This is more than just a campaign book; it’s a labour of love, forged from over 40 years of adventure, creativity, and dedication. While countless players and Dungeon Masters have explored the Flanaess, this version of the setting covers the entire continent of Oerik and invites you to see it anew.

This isn’t just any Greyhawk; it’s your Greyhawk. Starting from the foundations laid during Gary Gygax’s era, we’ve taken care to preserve the core elements that make the setting beloved while crafting an immersive and organically evolved world. By rolling back the clock to 576 CY—the time of the original folio, 1983 boxed set, and the 2024 Dungeon Masters Guide—we’ve cast off the baggage of later developments, such as the Greyhawk Wars, to reimagine the setting with a clean slate. Familiar faces and places remain, but they are revitalized, with a depth and vibrancy befitting the 2024 edition of the game.

Histories, and cultures have been intricately detailed, with a focus on creating a unified continent of Oerik. Drawing inspiration from both canon and fan-created material, the book breathes life into hinted-at lands like Risay and Komal, while fully integrating overlooked regions. Whether you’re navigating trade routes, exploring ancient ruins, or forging alliances among unique factions, Greyhawk Expanded provides endless opportunities for adventure.

Designed with Dungeon Masters and players in mind, this book compiles all the player options in one place for ease of use. It offers a streamlined introduction to Greyhawk for new players while providing veteran grognards with a fresh perspective on an old favourite. Take what you like, leave what you don’t, and craft your perfect campaign.

Includes:

Note: When calculating Common Years prior to the
Declaration of Universal Peace in 1 CY, remember that Common Year reckoning has no “year zero.” Thus, the time
elapsed between 5 CY and -5 CY is only nine years, not ten.

That's a span of 10 years, not nine. If you included a year zero then it would be a span of 11 years. (-5,-4,-3-2-1,1,2,3,4,5... see).

You didn't put Incabulous in the Death Domain Deities. He is so far the most oppressive deity in my campaign.

I purchased this one and was pleasantly surprised that it was a polished relaunch of K. Scott Agnew's Greyhawk Player's Guide. Better formatting, better artwork. I miss his work in Talislanta and Atlantis the Second Age, but I am glad he is still contributing amazing work to quality RPG products. I can't wait to go through this in detail. Hopefully we get access to the POD soon.

Looks like there's some missing info between pages 46 and 48. At the end of page 46 of the section "Ryuujin Rebellion", the page ends at "Kurutan successfully corrupted Kem Lamtun, the locally powerful daimyo of Eta, and through a mix of diplomacy and dark influence, he swayed eight other daimyo to his side. Each of these lords became proxies of a specific Lord of the" and then there's the gorgeous art on Page 47.
Page 48 starts with the following: "sovereignty, and Perrenland declared formal independence
in 400 CY, Furyondy’s territorial control steadily shrank. The Highfolk also gained self-governance, though formally remaining part of Furyondy, and by 526 CY, Dyvers became a Free City, though it continued to pay tithes to Furyondy".
So there's a whole piece of info missing there. I would suggest some proofreading to make sure all the information is there and correct/include/update with the missing info ASAP.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
