This FREE (Pay What You Want) Gazetteer is provided to assist DMs using the DMG 2024 looking to explore the Greyhawk setting given as a campaign setting example in that book. It seeks to provide a deeper and more detailed examination of the setting making use of the more than 40 years of published lore available, to pick and choose as DMs want.

The DMG 2024 provides basic details of the Greyhawk setting “largely” based on the 1980 World of Greyhawk Gazetteer from TSR a.k.a. the “Folio”. This “Revised” Gazetteer set in the same campaign year seeks to note the differences and provide expanded details of the setting based on the rich array of previously published sources, for DMs to consider. It provides::

  • An outline History of the Flanaess, explaining major historical events of the last millenia.
  • Outline details of the human ethnic groups (and their languages) that are so central to the history of the Flanaess, as well as the other major nonhuman species.
  • Brief summaries of each of the realms of the Flanaess, including suggested further reading from previously published lore.
  • Details of the climate and geography, including a comprehensive list and brief details of the various features in the Flanaess.
  • Summary details of the deities, demi-gods and hero-deities of the Flanaess, including suggested Domains for clerics in 5e.
  • Brief details for some additional factions and organizations, including the Circle of Eight in 576 CY per previously published lore and the Thieves Guild of the Free City of Greyhawk.
  • An overview of Greyspace for Spelljammer campaigns.
  • Appendixes with tabulated lore changes from “Classic” lore to DMG 2024, a comprehensive list of published Greyhawk sources, and links to some fan community resources to access.
  • Custom art including from Dan Smith and Joey Docil, and heraldry from Anna B Meyer.

Featuring commissioned Greyhawk art and professional layout, this Gazetteer is a passion project by the Greyhawk fan community looking to welcome the next generation of Greyhawk DMs and players.

NOTE: The Gazetteer is available as a Pay What You Want product. You can download it for free. Our intention is to make this available as a print on demand product. To do that, enough people must purchase the product at the suggested cost or more. When we reach 500 sales, we can request that DMsGuild allows this product to be POD.

For my own reference and for players, does this cover all of the various changes proposed by the new DMG? I'm aware that this continues that version of Greyhawk and I was curious what is altered.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this book, and wanted to offer a few minor corrections to make an excellent resource even better:

• On p. 73, in the Eastern Flanaess changes table's entry for Irongate, "Cobb Drag" should be "Cobb Darg".

• Also on p. 73, in the entry for Nyrond, "Archibold III" should be "Archbold III" (with no "i" in the middle of his name).

• And on p. 77, in the antepenultimate entry for the GDQ series, an admitted nit-pick: the module code for Against the Giants is G1-2-3, not G1-3.

good job! I may have missed it, but I can't find any elf skin color. Is it intended?

Thanks for the compliment.

The aim of this product obviously was to help those brand new D&D fans who are just starting out with Greyhawk, but if you want to use the Greyhawk material from the 2024 DMG, with earlier sources, we hope you can use our guide "backwards" to achieve whatever it is you want to do with that new material.

downloaded this primarily out of curiosity, pleasantly surprised and wish to convey thanks and well done to the creators of this supplement.

as an old fart who began playing in the summer of '77 I've seen many supplements that do not match y'all's work, well done.

Nice Supplemental / Addition to the recently released DMG. Love that you made the connections to older material so folks can explore earlier material and blend it in their own game.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
