The 3orcs DM Supplement  Side Quests for T1 Village of Hommlet is an invaluable tool for Dungeon Masters running the legendary T1 Village of Hommlet module originally written by Gary Gygax. This supplement spans over 34 pages, packed with detailed side quests that enrich the experience for both new and veteran DMs alike. It brings to life the iconic non-player characters (NPCs) and expands upon the world of Hommlet, allowing DMs to delve deeper into the lore and interactions.

System-Neutral Design with 5th Edition Stat Blocks
The supplement is written with Wizards of the Coast 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons stat blocks, but the lore, descriptions, and dialogue are designed to be system-neutral, ensuring its usefulness across multiple editions or role-playing systems.

Expanding on the Original Module
While T1: Village of Hommlet introduces players to the Moathouse and the lurking evil of the Temple of Elemental Evil, this supplement offers over a dozen well-constructed side quests. These quests allow characters to interact with the village, gain experience, and reach level 2 or higher before facing the deadly encounters in the Moathouse, such as the Temple's hidden leader.

Side Quests for Adventure and Growth
The supplement expands the non-player characters (NPCs) originally presented in T1: Village of Hommlet, offering 2 to 6 pages for each side quest. These quests are filled with NPC interactions, detailed dialogue, stat blocks, and beautifully rendered artwork that bring the small village of Hommlet to life. The side quests give players additional content to engage with before moving on to the dangerous challenges of the Temple of Elemental Evil.

Quests Included in the Supplement:

  • Clearing Out the Darkwood Grove
  • Helping the Tailor
  • Tamen’s Hijacked Ale
  • Cultists on the Road - Hommlet
  • Catching Zert in the Act
  • Finding the Saboteur
  • Catching Furnok in the Act
  • A Dangerous Partnership: Turuko and Kobort’s Scheme
  • The Goblin Spies
  • Forbidden Romance
  • Helping Spugnois find the Cache
  • Running Out Rannos and Gremag - Hommlet
  • Prelude Encounter: On the Road to Hommlet

Each quest is filled with narrative depth, drawing on the original flavor of Greyhawk and Hommlet, while also giving DMs the tools needed to create a seamless and engaging experience. Whether you’re an experienced DM looking to add complexity to your campaign or new to the world of Greyhawk, this supplement serves as an essential resource for extending gameplay and allowing players to connect with the village of Hommlet on a deeper level.

This guide ensures that Hommlet becomes more than just a backdrop—it becomes a fully realized part of the players' journey, filled with intrigue, danger, and opportunities for growth.

Art by 3orcs: Tools used with Pro accounts of Photoshop, CANVA, Chat01 Canvas and mix of hand drawn.

Edit: Version 3.1 - updated cover image, replaced all occurances of Joseph for Rogan in the Prelude to Hommlet quest.

I think this is an awesome supplement, I'm going to be using all of it.
With that said you may need to updated to a 3.1 version. Prelude Encounter: On the
Road to Hommlet has mention of Joseph where he's not mentioned before and then Joseph Millar has his own side quest. That might need to be cleaned up.

Thank you for the kind review. That is why I put in the work to get it to DM's that get value from the material and use in their campaigns. I see what you noticed. The module has just not been edited an updated. I replaced all occurrences of Joseph for Rogan in the Prelude to Hommlet quest. Hope that fixed the quest. :)

The Village of Hommlet—a cornerstone of Dungeons & Dragons history and the start of countless adventures. Created by the legendary Gary Gygax as the prelude to the Temple of Elemental Evil, the T1 Village of Hommlet module sets players in a quaint yet mysterious town brimming with potential encounters. However, as many Dungeon Masters (DMs) know, sometimes even a rich setting like Hommlet can benefit from a few more layers. This is where the 3orcs DM Supplement for T1 Village of Hommlet Side Quests steps in to elevate your D&D campaign, adding depth, intrigue, and variety to the classic setting.

As a longtime fan of traditional AD&D and Greyhawk lore, I crafted this supplement to capture the essence of old-school D&D while providing fresh, engaging content that respects Gygax's vision.

Why Side Quests Matter in Hommlet
When players first encounter Hommlet, they often view it as a temporary stop on their way to greater adventures, like the infamous Temple. But there’s...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
