The Helian Heist

Time for the Heist of your life!!!

Occult activity is on the rise around the town of Pinepass. Nobody has an idea why, but recently a shady individual was caught making their way through town toting an ancient book that is putting off a powerful, magical aura. With the culprit in custody, investigations have begun to discern what secrets hidden away in the pages of the book. These secrets are not meant for common people. They belong to the cult that you and your party are members of. With the treasure of a lifetime caught inside the town borders, it falls to a specialized team of cult members to get in, get out, and not get caught. The heist is on! Do you have what it takes?

The Helian Heist is a one off adventure that takes place in the small town of Pinepass. This adventure can be set within the world of Oranth that is fleshed out in the Knights of the Shadow Realm campaign setting, or it can easily be inserted into any setting at any table. It is meant for a group of 3-6 players between the levels of 4-6. It contains the following:

  • A map of the town of Pinepass and the locations held within

  • A unique roleplay encounter involving a gnome, an improv show, and a Dnd MadLib

  • A unique Ticking Clock mechanic for the DM to gauge how much attention the party has drawn to them while they search the town

  • A final boss encounter that varies based off of how well the party has accomplished their goals

  • Two fully illustrated maps of areas within the town

  • A unique magic item, new spell, and encounters to make each area investigated feel exciting to explore

  • Two player maps that can be used for VVT players

There are several dangling plot threads left through this adventure that allow this to be a jumping off point for a much larger campaign. Suggestions on how to follow these threads are provided at the end of the adventure or you can create new and interesting concepts that better fit your party. That being said, the main story of this adventure is self contained and can easily be played over 1-2 sittings. Expected play time for this game runs around 6 hours which makes for a fun night of adventuring and exploring for any party!

David, has a great sense for storytelling. Great oneshot. There are so many little fun bits inside, that will challenge players. Looking for a Heist adventure, or maybe even a hook into a larger campaign, this would be a good one. Your players wanna be the baddies, this would be a good one.
The ticking clock mechanic is great, reaction centered part to this, that creates some unique tension, that I really enjoy.
Also, I really want a Dragon Snap Cookie now.

David is a true storyteller. Here we have a solid adventure for a group of evil players, that is cooperative yet still rightfully evil. Good job.

David's one of the best storytellers out there and his previous adventures have never disappointed. He's got a knack for knowing what the DM needs to know, and this adventure is no different, in my opinion.

Rules Edition(s)
Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
