No consequences, no problems. As I was DMing my group pushed the cultists into the tree with magic and brute force. To easy for box or players to go into the light of the tree.

As a whole, this trilogy left a LOT to be desired. I felt the time travel idea to be weak, and not having consequences for their actions made it too easy for chaos to erupt. The roleplay opportunities in this module were fantastic, and we spread this module out over several sessions to maximize the enjoyment of it. This module redeemed the entire trilogy for our group.

Because a couple players were getting a little too unconcerned that their actions would have zero consequences, I had to include the possibility that going "murder hobo" on the town might result in them getting arrested and executed before the adventure ended, meaning they would return to the present without being able to finish the module and get their ACP/TCP and unlocks. It worked. :)

It would be nice if they would add the unlock cards for the cloak of protection.

Since the DM is expected to make most of the actual story up on their own and not just fill in details it would have been nice to be given an overall story arch at the beginning. I didn't read all three modules before I started the first one and ended up painting myself in some corners that are difficult toget out of.

As a DM I enjoy not being locked into a static story linebut it would be nice to not have to search so hard to discover the frame work i need to buildit on.

Player's review from Arcanacon: Fun detective story and interesting social interactions with the NPCs. In our party, each character had a role to play in the investigations, so that made it interesting. We didn't complete all the components, but realised we had discovered the cause of the wrinkle, and so we leapt to complete that component. Thanks for the adventure!

This module is definitely the most strong of the new trilogy though I think a few things could be made more clear to clean up a bit of confusion.

1. The biggest thing is that it should be more clearly stated that destroying the tree does not in fact destroy the Wrinkle itself, more that that the Tree and Cultists act like protectors for the Wrinkle.

2. A comment could be added by the Blackstaff at the end saying that there will be further study needed and that she intends, when the climate of the city calms down, to send more people back to study this anomaly.

Things that I LOVED....

1. Interaction with Marlcar and the nod towards "vegetarian vampires" reminded me of Twilight a bit but with less sparkles

2. the "Blood"hounds

3. Joy was a treat and totally a fun emo teenager to RP as

4. Artor wanting to be the only vamp in Waterdeep, explains a bit of the first Trilogy

I was surprised that this entire series of adventures didn't have the Item Unlock cards that DDAL08-01 through DDAL08-03 did.

Yeah why is that? Are we still getting those item unlock cards? Some of my players actually purchased a business card holder for those things

This was a topic on the latest "Adventurers Wanted" on DND's Twitch channel. It seems that the item cards were an experiment and they're going to update the rest of the modules with those cards.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
