Thanks for buying in, Curtis! No plans at present for a printer-friendly version, but that could change if we get enough interest.

So, I am a bit confused. How does this product run as a "Hardcover". You just run it front to back? I mean, it is a series of "random encounters".

In AL play, it incorporates into Dragon Heist. You can use the encounters here to spice up your group's journeys through the city, and still track advancement as normal.

So, there is a public execution... When in the Module that is supposed to be a "sourcebook" for waterdeep it claims that the people of waterdeep do not partake in such barbaric activities. I get that the Module, fleshes out almost none of the "must see" locations that they talk about, but making up nonsense about the city, doesn't help people trying to make the world better for their players.

Hi Christopher. As per the Dragon Heist sourcebook, executions take place behind the walls of Castle Waterdeep, which is where this one is specified to occur. The execution is not public: the encounter specifies that only a few family and guards are in attendance.

The characters are just passing by, and see an execution, that is behind the walls, gotcha. Look I'm only salty because the module came with practically none of the city, stores, services businesses fleshed out, and thought this would help fleshing out the city more, not so much. Sorry if you worked hard on it, but you didn't even have the updated map for Waterdeep in the product you are selling, as a companion to the Heist. (copyright issues or drama with Wizards who knows who cares obviously if you bought this you probably have the other map anyway) I think the Module itself is fantastic, but as a sourcebook or a toolbox for DM's its lacking content.

I will say i like that you actually put Aurora's Whole realm Catalog in the city, doesn't seem to be mentioned in the module even though its such a mundane, and yet cool idea for such a fantastic city.

If you reread the start of that section, you'll see that location encounters are specified to be used when the group visits a location OR passes by. In this case, it's for when your group actually visits the Castle. I'm sorry that the supplement didn't meet all your needs, but I think your gripe in that particular case is a little unfounded. Glad you liked Aurora's though - there are one or two other locations that aren't mentioned in the DH book that we had fun adding.

Is there any chance this will be released for Fantasy Grounds? If not... I'd probably be willing to port the pdf to a module.

FG forums have a place where you can share conversions of licensed or paid materials if the person using it can furnish proof that they own the original. So long as the original authors don't take issue with that channel, I will probably post my conversion there. I'll be starting that in the next week or so as my W:DH campaign starts first week of October. I'll post here when the conversion is done.

There is no place in the FG forums that allow sharing of modules if you have proof that you purchased the pdf version.

My experience with getting a module listed once you do a conversion is to send it to the author(s) and offer it. Some will accept it, others will not. They need to list it with the PDF.

Well, there WAS.

http://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?20244-Private-sharing-of-PFS-scenario-data-available-modules

But I was mistaken that it was a generic thread for any ruleset. It was Pathfinder specific. However, now that the official licensed paizo material is available on the FG store, that forum has since been updated to indicate that paizo will no longer turn a blind eye to GM's sharing conversions.

Regardless of that, this was never permissible for WotC licensed material, apparently. And this isn't WotC licensed material anyway. AFAICT, it's fair use for me to convert for myself and I guess that's where it needs to stay. Regardless, seems dumb to let the work of converting this to FG go to waste. I'll probably contact the authors when I've done so in case they are interested at all in using it. They might want to allow folks who purchased the pdf to request a copy of my work. If not, ndb. There's nothing stopping me from using it personally so far...See more

The code designates it as a "Hardcover" adventure for which set of AL rules you use to determine rewards. This is because its primarily intended as an extension of the Dragon Heist hardcover.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
