BREAK A CURSE THAT ECHOES THROUGH TIME!

You awaken on the morning of the Pudding Faire: just as you did yesterday… and the day before that… and the day before that! To escape the loop, you must break a curse that strikes to the heart of halfling and gnome lore.

Pudding Faire is a 3-4 hour Dungeons & Dragons module for character levels 1-4. It is part of a series of adventures that expands upon the material presented in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes™. It can be played on its own or as a part of any D&D campaign.

This product is a DMs Guild Adepts adventure! The Dungeon Masters Guild Adept program brings highly talented individuals together for creative development. Guild Adept products are identified with the golden ampersand and logo.

So I'm fairly new to D&D, and have never DMd. I'll be running a few sessions for my group in a month or two, but would like to do a practice run first. My gracious wife is allowing me to do so with her as my guinea pig, serving both as practice for me, and an intro to RPing for her (I think she'll enjoy it, but she's shy, so one on one initially will put her at ease). I was originally looking at a much more linear, and shorter, adventure to start, but came across this and think it's perfect for her! My question is, is this an ambitious adventure to run as my first attempt?

(SOME SPOILERS)

So I got to run this partially last night. Ran from 7:30pm to midnight and I'd say the players were maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of the way through it. They'd discovered many of the issues and found ways to solve them ahead of time as we began more of a montage on day 3, only slowing down when they encountered something new. All in all we had a blast and these are just some thoughts:

- It would take a very dedicated group to run this in 4 hours, I think day 1 took us almost 2 hours and day 2 at least another hour.
- The games and creative use of mechanics were a blast, each of my players found a game they could play in and had fun win or fail
- I completely forgot to add in the random events from the table and by day 3 when I remembered them I thought it would feel like the day was changing, so it's important to get them in on day 1 I think.
- I created a summary of special day-based events, such as the missing herbalist on day 3. The book is organized by area but...See more

(SOME SPOILERS)

Planning to run this in a non AL setting so I can give out XP whenever and be more flexible with non-combat XP. Curious how the time loop might affect leveling, whether it's possible at all, and how it would work since the players don't seem to really 'sleep' to get a long rest, just get reset.

Where, precisely, is Honeypuddle? My map with the River Chionthar on it doesn’t show it or Threepenny Wood. I just need a general idea of how long it will take my party to get there from Baldur’s Gate.

Hi Geoffrey! Honeypuddle and Threepenny wood are both made-up locations. I'd place them on the south bank of the river, roughly halfway between Baldur's Gate and Eltural.

Perfect! I figured they were, but also figured you had an idea where you wanted them.

This sounds like a blast, but one serious question... Who actually wants to break the 'curse' and not wake up to a Pudding Faire everyday of their lives?

Mmm, sticky toffee pudding is delicious but would get sickly after a few days....

Serious answer - the curse makes things very nasty for the residents of Honeypuddle if you hang around too long. I won't go into spoilerific detail here, but suffice to say, things get unpleasant.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
