Trapped in the sinister domain Tovag, the party must evade the ruthless Daggers and navigate an uncertain alliance with a mysterious rebel leader, Vocar. Their only hope of escape lies within the heavily guarded Fortress of Kas, where a transplanar nexus can pierce the mists of Tovag. But as they battle through Kas’s forces and face the cunning general Tejen, they uncover shocking secrets and face a deadly betrayal that could seal their fate forever.

A Vecna: Eve of Ruin Adventure - What’s this All About?
In chapter 5 of Vecna: Eve of Ruin the party learns the next piece of the Rod of Seven Parts is located in the Death House of Barovia, a Domain of Dread ruled by the notorious vampire Strahd. Including Death House in this adventure is a nod to parties who have played the popular 5th edition campaign Curse of Strahd, as Death House serves as an introductory adventure for the campaign.
While a callback to this iconic location may be fun for some parties, others may be underwhelmed or unsure about its inclusion at their table. Some groups may have already explored Death House (although this adventure is different in Vecna: Eve of Ruin) and interacted with Strahd Von Zerovich. Including this set piece may disrupt the lore established by your playgroup, particularly because some of the background presented in Vecna: Eve of Ruin conflicts with some canon from Curse of Strahd. You can use this supplement in conjunction with chapter 5 or entirely in place of it, depending on the needs and desires of your table.

*SPOILER WARNING*
The purpose of this adventure is to give the party more opportunities to interact with the lore surrounding Kas, one of the antagonists of Vecna: Eve of Ruin. Kas is the ruler of Tovag, which, like Barovia, is a Domain of Dread in the setting of Ravenloft. This adventure allows the party to explore Tovag, learn some of the lore behind Kas, and foreshadow his eventual actions later in the campaign.

As always, it is up to you how much of the content you use. It’s perfectly fine to use some parts of this supplement while discarding others, or simply let the ideas presented here inspire new ideas of your own. This supplement assumes a party of four to six characters of 14th level.

This Adventure Includes:

  • A New Location. Explore the terrible Domain of Dread Tovag, including a beautiful regional map.
  • Foreshadowing. Enhance the narrative of Vecna: Eve of Ruin with tasteful foreshadowing of events to come.
  • Color VTT-Ready Maps. Battle the forces of evil within the Fortress of Kas.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
