Last Hope of Fenhill

In Galarnay, petty jealousies fester. People are full of bitterness, envy, and distrust. Anyone who is seen to be thriving is pulled back down into the mud by those who are not. Small people hurt each other in a big way, and they have no one to blame but themselves ... Or do they?

Traveling to the wedding of an old friend, you find yourself in the lost Duchy of Galarnay where the populace lives under miserable circumstances. Luckily, you’re here for a joyous occasion and a good party is sure to brighten things up. However, as you spend more time in Galarnay you start to feel uncomfortable, there’s something off about the place. Something you can’t put your finger on. Enjoy the quiet, fair travelers, as you shall be fighting for your lives and those of the people of Galarnay before long.

Last Hope of Fenhill is a DUNGEONS & DRAGONS folk horror adventure for levels 3 to 6. Written by Marieke Cross (Chains of Asmodeus, Achtung Cthulhu!) with graphic design and maps by the award-winning Michal E. Cross (Chains of Asmodeus, Minsc and Boo’s Journal of Villainy, Modiphius Entertainment). The adventure begins as a slow burn, building the tension by immersing you in a seemingly innocuous world that grows increasingly alien. The many NPCs and beautiful maps found in this book help bring Galarnay to life and can be the springboard for future adventures in the duchy.

This 179-page book contains

Haunting villains and plothooks

Many detailed locations to explore

100 developed NPCs to populate your games

14 maps of adventure locations throughout Galarnay

New magic items & creatures

Numerous handouts and other visual aids to help bring your game to life

About Crossover

Crossover is the name under which Marieke and Michal Cross publish their own TTRPG products. Separately and together, they have collaborated with some of the industry’s most talented people. Last Hope of Fenhill is their first solo project, and the first of many if they have anything to do with it.

I've given a full review of this adventure on my website:

TL;DR five stars for a table that likes horror! The art and especially the cartography are really beautiful. Some linear elements may need addressing, and DMs should give themselves enough time to prepare the adventure.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
